Hotel Lundia

Very convenient from the train station. Clean hotel and very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

I am writing to formally complain about my recent stay at Hotel Lundia. Having stayed here four times previously with good experiences, I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of follow-up regarding my issues has been incredibly frustrating. Checking in late, I found the reception unmanned. The light switches in my room were completely broken, meaning I could not turn off the main lights or turn on the bathroom light. It looked like a long-standing maintenance issue. Seeking help, I faced a complete failure in communication: ⬤ A card in the room listed a number that only led to voicemail. ⬤ The number on the website went nowhere. ⬤ The number in the lift led to an answering machine. Eventually, I found a phone at reception and spoke to a helpful staff member, but no one could come to fix it. I spent an hour trying to resolve this, ultimately having to remove the light bulb myself just to sleep. The subsequent customer service was worse. The night staff member implied I would get a refund, though he later denied this. There was no proactive follow-up from management. I later received a review request; instead of leaving a public complaint, I sent a private message detailing the issue, which was completely ignored. When I emailed the staff member again, he corrected my memory regarding the refund but offered no apology or compensation. I have reached out via three different methods and received zero meaningful response. I am deeply disappointed by this treatment.

Centrally located, clean room. Wifi is a bit slow at times, but good overall.

Lovely clean room but missing a kettle or even a bottle of water, a bit of a miss when there appeared to be no one working behind the bar when I returned from eating out as there is no evening food service at the Lundia. There used to be coffee machines in the corridors but these have gone as well. Maybe vending machines would be a good idea?

Breakfast was good

Booked a suite, which was nice, but it was not as nice as advertised. Staff were friendly enough, but in general, it was mostly an average experience. But it is right on point for the cost of the hotel, and there is no need to worry about the hotel's amenities too much with it close to all that Lund has to offer.

Room is small but good for one person on a short stay. No work desk, just a small coffee table and armchair.

Stayed in a spacious, clean and comfy family room. Great hotel very close to the train station and centre. Would stay here again.

Cleanness

My original booking was for two nights (Aug. 1 and Aug. 2), but when my daughter got to the hotel before we arrived, she told a young woman employee that we would need THREE nights, and the employee indicated she would take care of added a third night. However, Sunday night our keys would not let us in the door, and we had to go to the Grand Hotel in the rain and wait quite awhile for the front desk to accommodate other guests to get our issue resolved. Evidently we were charged more because the third night was not done through booking .com. I feel we should be refunded the difference between the booking. com rate and the hotel rate since my daughter was not told we would have to go back into booking .com to add a third night.
