Paradise Bay Resort

When we arrived, we were told our room wasn't ready... then it was... but we went inside and it had not been cleaned. We told the front desk, and waited in the beautiful lanai for about 30 minutes before our room was ready. Despite the initial screw-up, we were in pretty quickly and enjoyed free tea and water while relaxing on a couch... Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you react to them that counts, and Paradise Bay Resort did very well! Sunset, Sunrise, Kayak, repeat as necessary 😊

This place is awesome but my one complaint is I wish they would open the gym at 6 instead of 9am

Amazing tropical gardens, views of mountains and ocean, helpful front desk staff….. but rooms tired and rundown. Cockroaches greeted on the first day in kitchen area but seemed to disappear afterwards. Refrigerator needed defrosting. Crack between sink and fridge needed cleaning. Bathroom tiles have some mildew. Leaking sink. Issues reported and were addressed. Also, don’t recommend rooms directly under the reception area. Woken up early every morning to footsteps of staff and people seeking coffee and banana bread.

Beautiful place to stay off of the beaten path

We liked the remote location away from the more touristy areas and the views of the bay and mountains.

The room was dirty and had bugs. There was one A/C unit in one room and no fans to circulate the air to the other rooms. My husband had to sleep on the couch as the bedroom was so hot. The room was on a severe incline which made the views spectacular but so many steps with our luggage and no option for help or notice on the website. As we are an older couple, this was a problem. The staff was nice checking in and the location was great, just not kept up properly.

The setting and ambience of Paradise Resort was pretty fabulous but then I am partial to lush greenery, soft emerald green mountains with mists swirling at their peaks and wonderful birdsong. Also a few crazy roosters which added to the character. The bed was incredibly comfortable and a real sense of privacy in the room / studio enhanced by the balcony overlooking the hills and pool. Pool was fabulous. The reception where you can hang out to the dulcit tones of their five evenings a week Hawaiian singer, has a totally wonderful view of the mountains and skies. Staff were efficient and very helpful. The ONLY minus points which can be easily rectified was a bedside unit and light missing from one side of the bed. Also the bathroom desperately needs shelving which could easily be done. Lastly, a few powder creamers would be a boon along with the coffee when you arrive late and tired. Another point was the parking cost which other than being the only resort we stayed at which charged was hiked up prior to our arrival. It was reduced back when we complained but it it felt a bit out of order. Otherwise well worth a longer visit than the five nights we had. A fortnight would have been a treat!

Not as advertised, couldn't reach staff during emergency. Left in the middle of the stay due to unsafe conditions and no help.
