Hotel Hillarys Akasaka

Room was clean and location was close to transit.

Great location, clean rooms, would stay again.

Rooms were nice and staff was friendly. Close walk to the station. Quiet.

Staff is very friendly and efficient. The building looks new and welll maintained.?The rooms are compact but comfortable, clean and creatively laid out. Room service is done daily and there is a laundry room. The breakfast buffet will already give you a taste of Japan - very delicious and high quality. Coffee bar is free and available 24 hrs. Quite surprised that its location (Akasaka) is rarely mentioned in many travel blogs because it actually very central and conveniently accessible to the key attractions in Tokyo. The neighborhood is quiet because it is not a shopping district yet vibrant with many eateries and stores open late through the night. I think that this best place to come back to rest after a tiring exploration of Tokyo. Will stay there again.

Warm staff well located

The rooms have a horrible smell. The first room I went to smelled like a mix of cigarettes and mold. I immediately requested a different room which smelled slightly better but still horrible. I had to leave the window open for the entire stay. The rooms are extremely small to the point where I had trouble finding a place to open my suitcase. The staff is the only redeeming quality of this hotel.

This was a lovely, easy stay for us. It was actually very quiet compared to some of the other reviews I’ve read. The only thing that prevents me from giving it a 5 stars is the size of the rooms. You will get small rooms in Tokyo, that is the norm, but we paid extra for a “deluxe” room that honestly was not worth it. We barely had any space to open our suitcase. We looked at the floorplans (emergency exit panels have floorplans with room surface area) and it was clearly an insignificant difference from a standard. The only way you can get your money’s worth for a deluxe room is if you happen to get a corner unit. That said, the hotel is beautiful, the staff is helpful and kind, the free breakfast spread is appreciated, and there is even a little coffee corner on the 1st floor free and open 24/7. Did not visit the onsen. VERY central in Akasaka which is a plus. The neighbourhood is lively and wonderful at night with great restaurants and would recommend staying in this area.

This should be a consideration for any traveler coming to Tokyo. The surrounding area was relatively quiet and calm as opposed to a location like Shibuya or Shinjuku. around the hotel are great restaurants and many convenience stores great for loading up on snacks/supplies for exploring the city. being so close to the metro was also incredibly convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and maintained a clean property. The highlight, however, was certainly the breakfast. if you book this hotel, pay extra for the breakfast tickets. The rooms were small but just enough for what we needed. Highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be returning.

Great location, comfortable beds, good water pressure but VERY VERY dry and dusty rooms. Nosebleeds and sneezing/itching the whole time. Rooms are not very soundproof. Staff is excellent though and the free beverages and onsen were an excellent perk. Make sure to request a room that has natural light.
