Courtyard by Marriott Edmonton West

Excellent!

First room we got was filthy. The floor was sticky and visibly dirty. There was a leftover bucket of chicken from the previous guest in the fridge. Before the kids went to bed, we had to wipe down their feet (which were black). Staff moved us to a clean room the 2nd night and things improved. Fitness room was really nice, one of the best hotel gyms I've been in. *Additional note, I booked the additional +$8 charge for breakfast but the hotel nor Expedia has any record of it. The additional charge just got added to the base hotel rate. So I effectively paid an additional $24 plus fees for nothing. Ended up having to eat out for breakfasts every day, which was a nuisance with 2 young kids. Extremely disappointed with Expedia's handling of the situation. They effectively took no responsibility for the error in their system and I eventually just gave up.

The only staff member I would like to commend is Carlo. He was the only one who provided genuinely helpful and welcoming service during our stay. The receptionist who checked us in was very unwelcoming and rushed. She informed us that we could request cleaning for our room, so the next morning at 8 AM (Sunday, August 2, 2026) we requested housekeeping before noon, as we were leaving for the day. When we returned at 8 PM, exhausted from a full day of activities, we found that the room had not been cleaned. We called the front desk, and they claimed they had no record of our request. We firmly asked if someone could come, and eventually Carlo arrived , again he was very kind and professional. However, we had to eat while he cleaned the room, which was an uncomfortable and unacceptable situation. And we just have to asked to just tidy up one area as we are very tired already. A family of 4 was diving and jumping in the small pool very rowdy and loud, very inconsiderate to other people in the pool and jacuzzi but seems no one is monitoring from time to time what is going on in the pool area

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and good food. Very close to West Edmonton Mall which is a bonus.

Amazing time, room was great, pool was spotless. Being able to sit outside in the courtyard and enjoy the sun was perfect

Clean room, good size for family if you are travelling with kids. Location is also good.

Good Location

Everything was fine and clean and a very comfortable stay. I was just surprised for the money we spent that a microwave wasn't included in our room, the tv hardly had any channels, we were not informed about using the wifi and the a/c rattled & clanged all night!!!! A few extra benches around the property would have been nice too....
