Loved the traditional Japanese ambience. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was good; close to bus stop. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Onsen was great!

If you want to experience a traditional tatami room and ambiance it's the place to be . Close central area of Kyoto in a very relaxing area !

Staying at Ishicho was a great experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and the room and onsen were very nice! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Me and a friend stayed for two nights as we wanted to explore areas of the Kansai region. It was such a nice experience! We didn’t end up trying the public baths, so I can’t comment on that, but the room itself and the futons were great ^^ When I think walkable, it may be different to someone else’s walkable, but transport (bus) is okay to get around— it is pretty busy though so take at your own caution if you have a large suitcase. The area is great! We wish we had more time but from what we walked and visited, it was nice. There’s a gachapon place nearby and multiple drug stores and places to eat. Overall, great experience! And for the price, definitely worth it.
