Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter

This hotel was in a convenient spot, literally walking distance to the gas lamp quarter lot of eateries. The restaurant at the hotel is actually really good. Feeling safe with the security that was on the property. Everybody super sweet definitely will come back.

This hotel exceeded expectations….and I’m picky. There was so much that they got right. When we checked in Kevin and Jimmy asked what we were in town for and we told them our daughter’s birthday…they were kind enough to offer a breakfast voucher. When we returned to our room later that day…they had sent a lovely note and sweet treat for her. She’s 15…they’re hard to impress ( iykyk) and she felt special. Cody who helped us with our bags was also delightful. About two hours after we arrived I was having a bit of trouble understanding our AC ( user error) and I had to call Engineering…the gentleman they sent to our room was also so kind and helpful. Our room was a perfect size for us as we were traveling with a teenager who wanted their own space. Would definitely recommend the 1 bedroom suite for families that would like room to stretch out. We enjoyed our breakfast this morning…get the French toast. I can’t remember the name of the host or our server but they were both excellent as well. All in all an excellent stay and we will definitely be back. Side note…we are doing a split stay in CA and have moved over to the Del….the service overall at the Gaslamp was as good if not better than the Del.

Good: Loft suites are pretty nice with high ceilings. Bad: Check-in was delayed about an hour. Would stay again

The property overall was very good. We've stayed her in the past few years. The hotel has done renevations that are lovely. the rooms are spacious and modern. The lobby and outside terrace were clean, comfortable, and cozy for lounging and gatherings. However, the pool was closed to guest during a summer stay (bewildered) and was not revealed upon booking or checking in for the hotel stay. So to our amazement after preparing to sit poolside for a few hours to find out the pool was closed due to prepping for the following week convention event. How convient to have your current guest walk two blocks to use the pool. Such an inconvience. Needless to say there was no pool use during our stay. Hilton and Expedia should be up front with these make or brake a booking or stay information.

The property entrance and lobby were well maintained and the staff was courteous and professional. I would have given five stars, but my room had a sink that required maintenance and the bed required new sheets. The staff was prompt with resolving these issues, but it did reduce the level of praise for a visit that would have been graded as outstanding. The saving grace was the wonderful staff and employees at this wonderful establishment.

Will definitely stay here again
