Albany Hotel

The hot water wasn't working but no one told me and I had to take a cold shower. When I talked to the front desk about it, they told me that had an extra room that people could shower in. I paid way too much to stay there.

I travel frequently for work and stayed at this hotel while attending a conference. Unfortunately, my experience on departure was extremely disappointing. The hotel withheld £40 from my deposit, alleging that I had used the room kettle to cook porridge and melt chocolate. This accusation is completely untrue. I did not use the kettle at any point during my stay. I made several polite attempts to resolve the matter directly with the hotel, explaining the situation and asking them to review the charge. Despite this, they refused to refund the money or provide a satisfactory resolution. The £40 itself is not the main issue. What I find most disappointing is being falsely accused and then dismissed when trying to resolve the matter reasonably. As someone who travels regularly and stays in hotels often, I have never experienced anything like this. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel. There are plenty of hotels that value their guests and treat them fairly. I would encourage fellow travellers to consider those alternatives

We had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed our time here. The hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The only small thing we missed was having slippers in the room. Other than that, everything was excellent. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel!

We had a lovely stay - we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel is also close to the heart of the city, so ideal for a mini break. I’d love to go back!

Clean and convenient, breakfast at sister property within walking distance. One room in basement was small and hot and shower in a bathtub that was difficult to navigate. Other rooms good.

Lovely hotel, extremely friendly staff. Room clean and stylish, with a large, well stocked bathroom. Fridge in room was a useful addition and full teas and coffee both in room and downstairs at reception for no additional cost. Perfect location as well, just 10 minutes walk from Waverley. Would definitely recommend staying again! 5 stars

No shower matt

Hotel was in a good position within walking distance to Prince St and many cafes and restaurants close by. Only downside is no lift, but staff carried my large suitcase to and from my room when I arrived and vacated. No air-conditioning, but you can open windows and they provide a fan in the room.
