The manager was absolutely amazing.
Unfortunately, the room smelled, there was intermittent hot water, and everything was rather worn down.

There were few staff, but they were all very kind and efficient in their jobs. The area is fairly quiet, but that is the nature of the town. They didn't speak much English, but they tried to accommodate me where possible.

It's a new property and we just paid 21 USD for a night for two people in double room. It was the best we could imagine to get anywhere in Japan. It's clean and a.good place to stay near Matsushima and Sendai and yet cheaply. Neighborhood is awesome too, and very close to train station.
