HOTEL DE FRANCE ET DE GUISE

The staff were exceptionally helpful, welcoming, and hardworking, always going out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of options available rather than a typical continental spread, including several coffee choices. The room showed some signs of wear and tear, although the bathroom had been recently renovated and was spotless. The main drawbacks were the squeaky floors and limited soundproofing between rooms, although outside noise was generally well blocked. Parking is located a short walk away (just a couple of minutes) and is free only between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. Overall, it’s a good option for a short stay of one or two nights.

Didn't like the 2 single beds

good staff, excellent location with ready access to public transport, food outlets, sites of interest and shopping. the bathroom was small but adequate for a couple of days.

Great locally sourced breakfast. Comfortable bed and a good nights sleep. My wife had twisted her back on the journey and we were changed to a room opposite the lift which enabled her to not have to climb any stairs. However this room was quite small. Easy access to the city of Blois and the Chateau. Becoming our go to last night stop in France.

Great location,friendly staff, beautiful views

A lovely old hotel in the spirit of Blois and la Loire Valley. The rooms a bit small and the hotel a bit dated but it only added to its charm. Super clean, still elegant, perfect location and the staff super welcoming and friendly. Breakfast in the lovely dining room, surrounded by castle paintings, was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The coffee machine with all its options is all that we needed of the modern world. Location next to the Royal Blois Castle and the pedestrian streets, the lovely Loire River, with our room overlooking a lovely church from our bedroom was just perfect. Also just a short drive away to visit the Chambord Castle and other great palaces in the area. So happy we chose Hotel de France et de Guise for our Loire lodging. No hotel parking but the paid street parking in the day, free at night, worked well for our schedule and short stay during our three day visit of the area.

Parking was good. Friendly staff. Nice location

The breakfast was actually not bad at all. However, the room was absolutely not as advertised. It was dirty, not functional, the sink kept clogging, the hairdryer wasn’t working and nothing was done to replace it when asked, and although they make it seem like traditional look, it’s actually mostly old (from the 90s) and not renovated at all. I would not recommend this place.
