Hotel am Rathaus

It was overall good. I did enjoy the breakfast offering. The staff wasn’t very helpful, however. I asked for help shipping a package and the first staff member said I could bring the package to the reception desk and they could print a label and arrange delivery. The second staff member I asked when I got the package ready told me they could not help me at all. I had to walk about 15 minutes to a DHL location carrying my 25lbs package to get it shipped. The property was pretty well maintained but the cleaning wasn’t great in the rooms or the hallways. I had a glass in the room that was meant to be used for drinking water and it was very cloudy and covered in a white, thick residue of some type. The curtains were stained, and oftentimes water bottles were left around hallways and stairways.

Staff are nice, beds are comfortable, and breakfast is very good. Towels are rough. Cleaning staff didn’t clean floor or replace dirty cups. No shower soap or shampoo provided.

It's a nice hotel in a lovely central location. The only issue was the wifi in the bar area failed to work. The reception staff tried to sort it but couldn't and were adamant it was my phone. I suggested they log me in to the staff network as a temporary solution, but it was made clear that it was 'my problem'. I went to my room and was able to connect with no problems from there. It's a bit annoying when the answer is 'It must be your phone'. But that's really just a staff training issue and the hotel itself can be recommended and I'd stay again.

The only area that needs to be addressed is the absence of “grab bars” in the shower.

V comfortable, good temperature, v clean. Shame no kettle/tea/coffee in room nor choice of soaps/shampoos/shower caps etc.

Great hotel, Christmas markets on your doorstep. Yet our room (402) was very quiet. Room was spacious and bed large, very comfortable pillows. We slept well during our stay. I'm pregnant and requested an extra pillow to support my back, this was provided without hesitation. The hotel bar looked nice, but we didn't use this facility. Would recommend and stay again.

Clean room

Quiet hotel with beautiful/eclectic decor in main areas. Rooms were clean and comfortable and nicely appointed.

The hotel is nice and clean. It was a bit quieter than I had expected but that could be the time of the year I visited. Location is excellent for the old town. A quieter street at night but walkable to all the attractions.
