Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur

We stayed at the Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur twice this year. It is a very beautiful, more traditional Malaysian hotel with an amazing foyer featuring huge chandeliers. The staff are very polite and helpful at all times, and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The buffet breakfast was the best I have ever encountered, with a huge selection of foods. We will definitely stay at the Royale Chulan again when in Kuala Lumpur and cannot recommend it highly enough.

It's a very large hotel, but the rooms have definitely seen better days. The air conditioning in the rooms is quite poor and we found several loose electrical wires poking out of the walls (hopefully not connected, but we avoided just in case) Our initial room had balcony doors that couldn't be closed, leading to an early wake up thanks to the building site next door. The reception staff were helpful, offering alternatives, some with similar door problems, but we did eventually end up with a room that, while not exactly quiet, was at least better than the first. Noise aside, the rooms were large and comfortable, breakfast was good and very varied and the hotel is in a pretty decent location. We tried the hotel restaurant one night, too and were very happy with the food.

Spacious, comfortable room and bed. Great big desk to work at. I would stay again for business. I waited a very long time to check in because staff at reception let people push in front of me, which was stressful. But the staff were otherwise very nice and helpful. Good little gym, nice big pool.

Excellent stay, very clean with great amenities & a fantastic breakfast.

We came for a business meeting. After check in we found out that carpet is dirty or burned. For our goal in our limited time we did not have time to complain. Upon check out we found out that parking has been deducted from our card RM 50, even though upon check in and out we clarified it with receptionist that we have a car and staff confirmed that after validating our card we scanned at car park, parking fees will be RM 5 only and we did validate the card. After check out the car, they deducted RM 50 and asked us to send email to the duty manager, and will be refunded after 45 days. How funny you easily take the money and takes 45 days to refund us,

The hotel is very very worn out with dilapidated facilities. Some amenities were cringe worthy, and adding to this was mould, stains n broken appliances. To top it up, the service was inconsistent, not meeting minimum hospitality standards . The saving grace was the good breakfast spread n helpful staff.

We were upgraded to a suite by the events coordinator. The space was ample , with a kitchen, living room, large bedroom, bathroom with a shower and a tub, and a large balcony with seating. All the furniture was comfortable, but the room was somewhat dated. The restaurant was terrific, and breakfast was wonderful. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The common areas of the hotel were beatiful and quite grand. However the guest rooms could use some updating.
