Hôtel Jean Bart

The room was not the most aesthetically pleasing, or the cleanest. There was an inch of dust everywhere and the toilet was moldy, so that was discomforting. We did not love having to check in our room key every time we left. That being said, it was comfortable enough and the location was very nice.

No air-conditioning.

The staff was helpful, the location was perfect, but the property looked a bit haggard inside and the price was absolutely insane for what you got. Be aware there is NO AIR CONDITIONING so this property is best visited in the fall or spring, not summer. I sweated all night with the windows open and fan on, after a cold shower.

Stay away this is a terrible hotel they overcharge. It’s very dirty. The service is bad. The wallpaper was peeling those hair everywhere in the bathroom and the staff was not accommodating at all no air-conditioning. Either the only thing that’s good as it its location that’s it.

I reserved 2 triple rooms and paid for triple rooms, got a double room and a twin room instead. Told the staff but she only spoke french and didnt even try to communicate unless I spoke french to her, very rude. If you go in the summer be aware there is no AC and rooms are very very hot.

Cleaning was less than adequate, found a pair of contact lenses on the bedside table, the coffee was empty and never refilled. Overall the hotel is in need of a refresher… However, location is great.

Great spot on a quiet street, but still walkable to all the major attractions. Simple, basic, had what you needed. Would recommend.

This hotel does not have AC. We were on the 5th floor and it was dangerously hot during the canicule (heat wave). It does have an amazing shower, but the beds were not very comfy. It is very close to Luxembourg Gardens which was great.

Second stay here and still decent value for money in a good location for Rive Gauche. Was there during the 40C+ heatwave and lack of air-con was an issue, but hardly a frequent occurrence (hopefully). Clean and pleasant rooms with character.

My overall experience & stay at hotel Jean Bart was really good. The hotel rooms are on the small side but if you're coming to visit paris you're not really staying in the hotel for much more than to rest. The building itself is old & is maintained through maintenance. I didn't really use much of the amenities including the free breakfast although it is available, you have to tell them ahead of time. The only true amenity I use was the elevator which was very handy if you have luggage. The spiral steps are old & if you are older not really useful. My only issue I've had during my stay was the shower heads being really dirty but besides that the rooms were very clean the beds were clean although there were spots on the Box frame of the beds the mattress was clean. no insects or bugs or rodents doing my stay & they even offer free Wi-Fi. I came to this hotel when the temperature was very mild so I didn't need an air conditioner although they do not offer an air conditioner my room had a balcony with an open door which offered more than enough cool air to come in. overall the customer service was very nice even if you do not speak French, a couple words will get you through your stay. The reason why this hotel is a great choice for anyone visiting parents is because it's right in the middle of the city in the 6th arrondissement you can literally walk anywhere in Paris from the Latin quarters. Great restaurants & cafes near the hotel and a local store right across the street.
