මුල් සහ රස: පුලාවු උබින් සොයාගැනීමක්

මගේ පවුලේ අයත් මමත් 2026 මැයි 24 වන දින සංචාරයට ගියා. සංචාරය සඳහා මුළු සහභාගිවන්නන් 12 දෙනෙක් සිටියා. අපගේ සංචාරක මාර්ගෝපදේශක සීහ් මහතා හාස්‍යජනක, මිත්‍රශීලී, දැනුමැති අයෙක් වූ අතර අපගේ ආරක්ෂාව සහ යහපැවැත්ම ගැන සැලකිලිමත් වූ නිසා අපි අපගේ කාලය සැබවින්ම භුක්ති වින්දා. ඔහු අප සමඟ ඔහුගේ දැනුම සහ කථා බෙදා ගැනීමට පෙර නිරීක්ෂණය කිරීමට සහ සිතීමට අපට ආරාධනා කළා. එය මිතුරෙකු අපව පුලාවු උබින් හි නැගෙනහිර කොටස ගවේෂණය කිරීමට රැගෙන යනවා වැනි හැඟීමක් ඇති කළා. පසුව අපි රසවත් දිවා ආහාරයකින් සංචාරය අවසන් කළා. සීහ් මහතාට ස්තූතියි!

අපගේ ඩොලර් 100 ක සිංගප්පූරු සංස්කෘතික වවුචර භාවිතා කළෙමු. මුදලට වටිනාකමක් ලැබුණි. අපගේ සංචාරක මාර්ගෝපදේශකයා වූ සී (Seah) ඉතා දැනුමැති, පළපුරුදු සහ උපකාරශීලී විය. උබින් හි ශාක හා සත්ත්ව විශේෂ/සාගර ජීවීන් පිළිබඳ බොහෝ දේ ඉගෙන ගනිමින් ඉතා අධ්‍යාපනික/සිත්ගන්නාසුළු සංචාරයක් විය. මිනිත්තු 10 ක බෝට්ටු ගමනක්, පැය 2 ක කඳු නැගීමක්; වායං වේදිකාව, ප්‍රධානියාගේ නිවස, ටෝ පෙහ් කොං පන්සල නැරඹීමෙන් පසු චෙක් ජාවා වෙත ගොස්, පසුව අඩ පැයක් බෝඩ්වෝක් එකේ ඇවිදීමෙන් සංචාරය අවසන් විය. ආපසු එන ගමන වෑන් රථයකින් මුහුදු ආහාර අවන්හලකට/දිවා ආහාරය සඳහා: දැල්ලන්, තැම්බූ මාළු, ඉස්සන්, පැණිරස ඇඹුල් ඌරු මස්, මිශ්‍ර එළවළු. අපගේ 6 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් පවුල (අවුරුදු 5 ක දරුවෙකු ද ඇතුළුව) ආහාරය භුක්ති වින්දා + ඉතා හොඳින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද සංචාරයක් විය. අපට මෙවැනි අමතක නොවන, උද්යෝගිමත් පවුල් විනෝද චාරිකාවක් ලබා දීම ගැන සී (Seah), සැමුවෙල් (ඔටර් ටුවර් කළමනාකරු) සහ ක්ලූක් (Klook) වෙත ස්තූතියි. මෙම උබින් සංචාරය සඳහා ඔබේ ඩොලර් 100 ක සංස්කෘතික ණය භාවිතා කිරීමට ඉතා නිර්දේශ කරමු.

මම මේ සංචාරයට සම්බන්ධ වීම ගැන සතුටුයි—එය මගේ $100 SG සංස්කෘතික වවුචරයට සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම වටිනවා! අපගේ සංචාරක මාර්ගෝපදේශකයා වූ සී, පුදුම සහගතයි. ඔහු උබින් ගැන හොඳින් දන්නවා, සිසිල්ම ශාකවල සිට අමුතුම විනෝදජනක කරුණු දක්වා, ඔහු හැමෝම හොඳින් බලාගත්තා. මොනතරම් විනෝදජනක කුඩා ත්‍රාසජනක ගමනක්ද! ඒ වගේම, අපිට රසවත් දිවා ආහාරයක් ලැබුණා… හරිම රසයි!

It is my first trip to Pulau Ubin as Singaporean. If not because of Covid, I may not visit this place. Great place for visiting. I also found rambutan at the island very nice to eat.

Travelling to Changi Village and taking the bumboat at the jetty sets you on a different mode as you go back in time when things were so much simpler . I was thrilled to see a wild boar family and was afraid to go too close as the mother might be aggressive if we go too close to her babies . We had a good lunch at the seafood restaurant. Everything seems so fresh.

Though it was raining while we were there, it was an interesting experience to explore the island in the rain. The main guide, Seah, was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Both guides took care of the team (9pax) and helped us to learn so much about Pulau Ubin's Flora and history. Lunch was amazingly delicious with fresh seafood! Big thank you to the guides and the friendly driver in Pulau Ubin!

Very educational and interesting, is also quite unforgettable as one of our group members umbrella was snatched by a monkey. The scenery along the boardwalk overlooking the other side of Singapore is also beautiful and scenic. The mangrove with moulds made by crabs was a rare and interesting views. The seafood lunch after our activity, was okay.

Just take note that the tour actually begins at 9am! I was not added into the WA group by the tour agency, so my mum and I were clueless of the actual tour starting time, and arrived at 9.30am instead. Nevertheless, Richard our tourguide was very knowledgeable and quick to think on the ground. He managed to adjust the arrangement for the tour to let the rest of the tour group take a boat to Pulau Ubin first, while he waited for me and my mum at Changi Ferry Point Terminal. He also helped to explain the situation to the rest of the group on our arrival, and we still had a very enjoyable time with the rest. We explored the Chek Jawa Wetlands, walked the boardwalk and had a surprisingly yummy seafood lunch. Seafood (lala, prawns and fish) was very fresh. Stir-fried vegetables were fresh, crunchy and sweet too. Bee hoon was raved by most at the table as well. Braised chicken wings were tender and omelette was delicious. We also loved the chrysanthemum hot tea and the chilli sauce. The vans were also very clean and comfortable and a great respite from the mosquitos and heat/humidity. My mum and I really enjoyed the trip with Richard our tourguide and the group. Richard was also very helpful to take pictures for us, recommend photo spots, point out interesting features and assist all of us in boarding and alighting the ferry boats. For first timer visitors - please remember to use mosquito repellent and wear long sleeves, pants and bring a hat or umbrella, water bottle, wet wipes and a fan. They will come in useful! You can also choose to stay on after lunch (to explore the sensory trail, cycle, etc) or take the ferry back. This tour is a great way to be initiated to Pulau Ubin and Chek Jawa Wetlands.

Mark was a fantastic guide, well versed with knowledge of mangrove and its habitat. It was indeed a memorable experience.
