MONOPOLY: HIDDEN Singapore - Katong-Joo Chiat

එකතු කිරීම සඳහා ද ඉකෝ ක්ලබ් වෙත පැමිණ චීන කාන්තා ප්‍රධානියාට මගේ ක්ලූක් QR කේතය පෙන්වූ නමුත් ඇය කෝපයෙන් යුතුව තමා නොදන්නා බව පැවසුවාය. ඇය එතරම් මිත්‍රශීලී නොවූ නමුත් අවසානයේදී අප පිවිසුමේ ඇති QR කේතය ස්කෑන් කළ යුතු බව මට වැටහුණි. මුළු ක්‍රියාකාරකමම සිත්ගන්නාසුළු අත්දැකීමක් වූයේ එය ඉතා උණුසුම් වීම හැරය. අප දෙදෙනා සඳහා ටිකට් පතක් මිලදී ගැනීමෙන් අදහස් වූයේ අපගේ මොනොපොලි මුදල් එක් කට්ටලයක් පමණක් බවයි, නමුත් එය ප්‍රමාණවත් වූ අතර ක්‍රියාකාරකම සඳහා එක් දුරකථනයක් පමණක් භාවිතා කිරීම තේරුමක් ඇති විය. අපි ඩම්ප්ලිං 2 ක් (100M), අයිස් ඇමරිකානෝ 1 ක් (50M), VN ඩ්‍රිප් කෝපි 1 ක් (150M) මිලදී ගත්තෙමු. ස්පින් ඇන්ඩ් වින් වෙතින් 10% ක වට්ටමක් සහිතව තේ සඳහා ගෙවීම් කළෙමු. අපි ප්‍රදේශය ගවේෂණය කරමින් සිටි නිසා මාර්ග කිහිපයකින් ගිය අතර මුළු මාර්ගය සඳහාම පැය 3 කට ආසන්න කාලයක් ගත විය.

I enjoyed learning about the history of Joo Chiat, it’s not just about the buildings but the life and lives of people who go to places like the Red House to matchmake. To contrast the present, we are brought to an interesting silkscreen-printing micro shop inside Katong Plaza where we chatted with its artist-owner too. I like the concept of buying food using Monopoly money! That added a really fun element. I have decided to try other monopoly trails at other locations too after this.

Discover new places in Joo chiat and Katong that I never knew they existed through this self-guided activity. If not for the SG culture pass credits, the price is considered slightly expensive for a self-guided activity. surprised to have free tote bag and monopoly keychain as gifts when you complete the activity!

It was a nice experience seeing & learning more about JooChiat/Katong culture & heritage. Kids & I had fun figuring out the answers to progress on in the Monopoly game via WhatsApp. However, clearer instructions could have been given for a start for players so as to prevent wasting time moving off to a wrong route. The Monopoly money can be used to redeem food/drink/items at various “shops” listed in the QR code given which users should take note at the start. 1 adult ticket entitles to 1 goodie bag given upon completion & 1 monopoly red packet (monopoly $ + chance card) given at the start, as a family it’s not necessary to purchase tickets for everyone. Overall, it was a good family bonding session.

I really enjoyed it! it's set for 1.5 hours but we took around 3. Very informative about the area and some of the shops we stopped in. The riddles were fun, pushes you to really search the area/read the texts around you. I do wish they would let you know which shops are closed on the map cause a couple of the shops on the list were closed on Monday when we went. Overall i enjoyed it! definitely recommend the Iced Tea at Durman Food Hall :D

Such a fun way to explore East Coast and Joo Chiat’s history! Took us a while to get the hang of the game (and the hints weren’t always helpful 😅), but we figured it out in the end. Great experience and even better family bonding time ❤️

Family of 5 (2 adults, 10 year old, 8 year old and 20 months old in carrier). Signed up with SG culture pass. PS: Do not have to sign up for all the participants. We only signed up for 3 pax just to let the kids have one goodie bag each. Interesting way to get to know more about history of Katong and Joo Chiat. The older kids enjoyed the game and is able to participate using their phones. Wheelchair/Stroller not advisable as it is slightly inaccessible. Got to buy dumplings and some snacks/drinks along the way with the monopoly money. Took us near 2 hours to complete. Fully charged phone is sufficient to complete the game.

It was a fun experience. Went as a family and it was good bonding time and also, to get to know the area better. Was able to redeem things from the local shops with the monopoly money.

I went with 7 church members and formed 2 teams. We faced problem when we reach the starting point. I felt the actual day registration can be improved. We did not know who to look for and what to do. After asking 2 persons in the Heritage shop, who obviously did not know what's going on, we finally found someone who told us what to do. Could have provided more information on this to minimize confusion. One more problem we faced was the video downloading. One of the team did not get to download the video, so they could not continue with their mission. In the end, they followed us. Overall, I would recommend this as a team bonding activity as we learn how to solve the riddles and complete each mission together.

Fun and interesting take on monopoly, kids enjoyed it, recommend to go in the morning when it isn’t too hot.
