The building is beautiful from the outside, but it is in desperate need of maintenance and renovation on the inside. The only positive aspects of my stay were the breakfast buffet, which was excellent, and the housekeeping staff. The cleaning team did an outstanding job and kept the rooms clean and well maintained throughout my stay. Overall, despite a few positive points, I would not consider this a true four-star hotel and would not choose to stay here again.

This hotel is not a four-star hotel. First, as soon as you arrive, you are faced with a long flight of very steep stairs just to reach the reception area. The hotel clearly states that there is no bellhop service, so you will have to carry your own luggage. If you are not in good physical condition, this can be quite challenging. Second, the hotel advertises a gym, but it is not actually part of the hotel. It is a separate facility next door, must pay an additional €6 to use it per day Third, the hotel claims to have a spa, but access costs €18 per hour. If you are a business traveler and need reliable internet, be prepared for disappointment. The Wi-Fi connection is extremely poor in most areas of the hotel. I had to work from the terrace because there was virtually no usable connection in my room. I contacted the staff, and they moved me to another room that supposedly had better internet, but the speed was still terrible—less than 1 Mbps when I tested it. The building itself is beautiful from the outside, but the interior is in serious need of maintenance. The carpets in the rooms are stained and dirty. If you look closely at the lower sections of the doors, you will see chipped paint and poor repair work throughout the property. Overall, the hotel does not appear to be well maintained. Parking is another major issue. The hotel charges €20 per day for parking, which is expensive. Unfortunately, you will likely have no choice but to pay for it because there is not parking

A good all round experience. (Didnt use the spa)

Lovely large room with balcony and view of the pool and garden. Very comfortable large bed. We couldn’t get the coffee maker to work, but one of the staff managed to when she was able to leave the reception area. Room was very clean except the tv remote controls, good air conditioning. Very nice bar and restaurant, the food was very good and the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food. The pool was refreshing (unheated, but it was 35’C outside!) we would definitely stay here again

The location of this hotel is in a very quiet area. I like the view from my room to the mountains. I also enjoy the distance to other cities I went to see.

Exceptional stay, friendly staff, and the perfect Basque Country base!This was my first time visiting the Basque Country, and it did not disappoint. I traveled here for the EPRC finals and to catch up with a friend I hadn’t seen in nearly twenty years.I chose Durango as my base because it is an easy 40-minute train ride into Bilbao. The hotel itself is ideally located—just a 10-minute walk from the station and close to local shops, restaurants, and beautiful historic buildings. Having stayed at Silken hotels before, I had high expectations, and I wasn't disappointed. It is a beautiful property featuring a nice restaurant, an onsite spa, and a lovely garden area for outdoor dining.The hotel staff were super friendly and welcoming, even using my name after just a few days. The breakfast was good, and my room was large, spotlessly clean, and featured great air conditioning with multiple aspects. The bed was comfortable, so I slept very well. The bathroom also had a nice, powerful shower and decent-sized towels.I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. While I suspect I was very lucky with the great weather during my trip, the hotel's excellent amenities make it a fantastic choice rain or shine.

Wonderful hotel, and perfect location in Durango.

Muy muy limpio, la condición del lobby excelente. Pero los cuartos ya están un poco viejos y desgastados. La cama muy cómoda aunque las almohadas un poco planas. Algo que esperaba encontrar era una cafetera o tetera para hacer té o café. El desayuno buffet excelente y muy rico, diario lo mismo pero la calidad excelente 100% vale comprarlo. El personal excelente desde concierge, limpieza y restaurante. 100% nos quedamos otra vez ahí.

The spa was lovely but misleading on the advertising. It is a separate service you pay to use
