Awesome

The location, amazing staff & cost effective rate is why you would want to book here. My husband had recently had surgery and needed to be able to return to the room while the rest of us saw the sights and that was invaluable. The other thing that stood out was the staff, specifically the gentleman whose name starts with an E, maybe Ezme? He was so good that I would compare his service to that of a Fairmont or Marriott. Ie I was cleaning my sun glasses & he offered me a glasses cleaner packet and he gave us solid recommendations for dinner. For those reasons I would return. Nothings perfect so some areas that could use improvement are; The breakfast was average in comparison to others we have had in Turkey (but that is a factor in our decision making). I went next door to North Art Coffee to get my yummy Cappachino fix. More importantly the bathroom was dated and as is common there is no fan, which often results in black mold which I believe we had in our room. We needed a larger room to sleep two adults and a teen so perhaps the smaller rooms are without that problem but I think with an update to the bathrooms this place will be fantastic.

This was my second time staying at Side Hotel and it remains my go to in Istanbul. Really clean rooms, unbeatable location, really nice and helpful staff, and a nice breakfast with a terrace with nice views of the Blue Mosque, Aga Sophia, and the sea.

Very good place

Great location with friendly and helpful staff. Plus very nice buffet breakfast and a civilised checking out time if 11:00. Unfortunately our room was quite tired and in need of some work and redecoration. The shower though was very good.

Great location

Great location only 5 minutes away from the Blue mosque and the Hagar Sofia. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Room was clean. A bit of noise from early starters from the street.

Room was tidy but dated. Old furniture old beds and worn rugs. I booked the hotel after seeing photos and seeing that it was close quarters to the two main mosques. All other sites were within walking distance. Sadly this was really the only upside. We could walk everywhere. There was good Wi-Fi. We had to change rooms as the first one had a toilet literally stuck to the shower. Basically you couldn’t sit on the toilet unless you were a child with very thin legs. The second room at least the bathroom was normal. Although the grouting in the shower was mouldy. It was old. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Bit of bread cheese, salad, a boiled egg, yogurt two cereals, Turkish bagel chopped into tiny pieces and a warm Turkish pastry. Oh and an instant coffee dispensing machine. But what I really wanted was to eat breakfast with views of the Blue Mosque. Impossible! No view other than other hotels. Photos on their adverts were fake or very very old. I expected more for my money particularly since the room was advertised as being over £100 per night. With my Expedia discount I got it for slightly less. Hmmm I still think I paid more than I should have. It was a room to sleep in nothing more. No frills. If you wanna be close to everything and don’t mind basic same breakfast every morning then this is for you. Fabulous location too

Great staff. Proximity to major attractions. Great neighborhood for eating mostly.
