We arrived at 4:30pm and the lady, Renee, at reception told us that we had enough time to make it to the complimentary wine tasting at Shadowfax. It was 5 minute walk. We completed check-in and walked quickly over to the wine tasting. We expected them to turn us down or act like they didn’t want to serve us. The gentleman who led the wine tasting was so accommodating and didn’t treat us like we were running in last second. For that, we did buy a bottle when we probably wouldn’t have otherwise. The complimentary wine left in our room was a nice touch as well. (We went to the wine tasting prior to going to our room-so we had plenty of wine haha) Later, Renee gave us good advice on where to go as we needed to wash clothes and had missed the deadline to send clothes out. She was very helpful. The indoor pool was lovely at night and felt pretty fancy. The grounds were gorgeous and it backs up onto the zoo. I wish we had more time there. We stayed here as our last night in Australia (we are American) on our east coast road trip. I felt like I scored on finding this place and felt like the price was wellllll worth it!

Bed and pillows were great, so comfortable. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool, but it looked great. When arriving after dark the signage is very poor. Look for a small sign near the ground to the left of the zoo gate. Head down gravel road which needs lighting. Good range of breakfast but food was mostly cold. Warmer basically did nothing. Was nice to visit the mansion.

Reception was luck warm, room not too clean, bathroom sink in metal feel like you are in a kitchen, bathroom floor was not too clean, bathroom really small without bath mat and very slippery. The hotel was noisy during the night and the bed was so soft that you get stuck into them . Not great for your back. The breakfast is very limited, dinner room was not clean with fries on the floor from the day before, no fresh bread, disgusting coffee, no yogurt and limited food option. I would not recommend it

Excellent breakfast, lovely soft pillows and bed, superb swimming pool, the grounds are beautiful and the mansion very historic and great to tour. Our welcome was very friendly and professional. We will definitely stay again.

This is the worst property we have stayed at . The room was tiny. There were stains all over the couch. The bed was soft and lumpy. The bathroom was tiny and resembled a prison cell. We have stayed in 2 stars better than this 5 star. On the plus side the staff were very accomodating. But the room was simply way below par.

The location for the zoo, spa and winery is awesome.

Staff were amazing, and they made our stay extra special which I can't thank enough. I loved the food/ breakfast. Swimming pool. All the extras like going to the winery and mansion tour. The only negative was there was a wedding and the DJ was so loud with the base, till around midnight. I didn't complain in the night to ruin a wedding party and maybe nothing could have been done anyways. However I do think they should put guest part of the wedding on the back of the building and other guest on the frontz as it was so loud the glass was even shaking.

Lovely staff. Great amenities. Great buffet breakfast included. So much to see around the grounds and mansion, highly recommend

The room was clean and staff were lovely. We had 3 nights and overall a good experience, disappointing was no black out curtains and a spotlight in the grounds meant our room was light all night. Buffet breakfast was good but with a full hotel did not keep up with demand. Would stay again if needing to be near the zoo and mansion.
