Incredible value. This family run hotel delivers all the basics you need, plus a family touch of caring to the guests. From the moment I arrived, I knew I picked a great place. The lady checking me in was over the top helpful I sharing information and explaining the amenities of the hotel. She shared it is all family run. My breakfast in the morning was even cooked by the matriarch of the family... so humble and kind. She just wanted to make sure I enjoyed the food. I didn't know she was the owner of the hotel until later.
The rooms are basic, not fancy. My room was clean and there was plenty of hot water.
The upstairs lounge is fantastic... I spent hours looking at the volcano from the relaxing lounge space.
The location cannot be neat. You are in the heart of the town and it is very easy to get what you need. A well stocked and large store is at the corner, so you can get all the food, supplies, and drinks you need.
When I return to La Fortuna, there is no doubt about where I am staying!
