What a wonderful gem in this beautiful city. It’s spotlessly clean , filled with history, perfect location and the staff are amazing. Add to that great food, especially breakfast and we have a perfect place to stay.

A Charming Hotel When I booked the Gerloczy I was hoping for a hotel of character and charm and not a modern box that might be found in any city. I'm happy to say that the Gerloczy was indeed what I was looking for. We would be happy to stay there again. It's located in a quiet spot, hidden behind a small park, with its own cafe in front and restaurant inside. We had breakfast (excellent) and dinner there (delicious!), with piano music in the evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious (seemed even larger because of its high ceiling) and the bed comfortable. I normally don't care for windows between room and bedroom, but the hotel had lovely frosted glass panels etched with an Art Nouveau design, with whimsical frogs and dragonflies. One problem: I wanted a room with a shower, and we had a bathtub with circular frame to hold a shower curtain suspended high above the tub-- and no curtain. I suppose I could have asked for a curtain, but we were too busy doing things in the city, and I didn't think of it till quite late. We took showers but had to be very careful not to spray water all over the place.

We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful stay here. It is the most charming and beautiful building and rooms with a perfect location to reach anything in the city you need either by walking or by public transport. The Cafe downstairs is amazing and the staff were all incredibly friendly and efficient. It’s a must stay for a couple nights of Budapest!

We loved our stay. The hotel was a fantastic location and a bit of luxury. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and very accommodating in making s special occasion even more memorable. The breakfast was also lovely and the restaurant and outside space were in keeping with the boutique feel.

All the great reviews are telling the truth. Wonderful boutique hotel within walking distance to everything. Sonja at reception is exceptionally friendly. The waitstaff are cordial and watching them work is like looking at a well choreographed dance. We stayed in the little attic room. Very comfy.

Lovely quirky hotel. We had the room with the veranda on floor 2 which was spacious as was the bathroom. The breakfast was fabulous! Lovely restaurant with outside space to sit in the sun. Staff were lovely too. A great trip, just wished we’d booked for a few more days
