We had a wonderful stay at Musket Cove. The location is absolutely beautiful, with stunning tropical grounds and plenty of space to relax and unwind.
The food was very good, with a mix of buffet dinners, 3-course set menus and a café option. The spicy chicken burger from the café was a standout. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. TVs don't work in rooms. WiFi is only available in restaurant areas.
Our kids loved the complimentary canoes and stand-up paddleboards. We also hired bikes, which was a fun way to explore, although at around $100 AUD for the day they weren’t cheap. We joined the free snorkelling trip to the sandbar, which was great, and the paid village tour, which was a fantastic cultural experience. I also enjoyed a one-hour spa massage for about $130 Aust.
Staff were friendly and welcoming, but service & organisation could be inconsistent. The relaxed island pace was part of the charm, but some activities weren’t well coordinated. We were sent to several places for basket weaving, then waited without acknowledgment, so we left. The kids’ night safari was also poorly communicated and had little wildlife to see due to timing. The pool was lovely, though there is no poolside service so you need to go to the bar. We also visited Plantation Island Resort for a drink and enjoyed the local rugby game.
Overall, Musket Cove is a beautiful, peaceful resort perfect for slowing down, switching of and experiencing Fiji.
