This is a very dated hotel. The rooms were upgraded, yes and the room sizes are great, but I think they are still in the midst of renovations. The pool is out of order and the gym not well equipped. I booked two rooms for me and a friend. My room is great, my friend’s not so much. Their room had no microwave, no hair dryer and the toiletries (shampoos, conditioner, body wash) were not even replenished. They had to call Reception for it, but eventually gave up since it was just a one night stay. I was hosting the friend and her family for a first ever visit to Ottawa. It wasn’t a very good impression with this hotel, and we decided to stay somewhere else the next night. The breakfast, which was supposed to be free according to Expedia was at a surcharge of $16.99 per person. Very hard bacon and very rigid egg omelets. I had better breakfast fare elsewhere.
