You can overlook many things, but this hotel deserves a zero.
The hotel itself is old, but that’s not the problem. The real issue is the staff. They speak to guests very rudely and look at you as if they have no idea what you want from them.
My problem was actually very simple. I am someone who cannot stay in a room without fresh air. The windows don’t open, which I understand is for safety reasons. However, the air conditioners in the rooms are so incredibly loud that it’s impossible to sleep. It feels like you’re sitting inside a helicopter—the noise and vibration go through your entire body.
When I asked them to solve the problem, they simply said, “It’s normal. It’s just the air conditioner.” They offered to move me to another room, but I asked if I could see it first. If it had the same problem, there would be no point in changing rooms. They refused and said, “No. Either move to the other room or stay where you are. We are not going to show you the room.”
I worked in the hotel industry for 13 years, and we would never have allowed staff to speak to guests this way. Showing a guest another room so they can check the noise level is not a difficult request.
Overall, my impression of this hotel is terrible. I would not recommend staying here
