Great location. We enjoyed our stay

very clean, large room with a great balcony. Very close to everything but a couple blocks away so it is quieter and easier to get cabs, etc. coffee shop ext door!

The hotel itself is great and it was easy to get to the train station, and quieter than staying on the other side of the river. That being said - if you’re on the basement level, there was an extremely weird smell in the hallway that was seeping into our room on the first day. Thankfully, once we got the AC turned on and sprayed some air freshener, it helped - but it was pretty awful in the hallway the whole time.

Excellent room layout for 4 adults. Great amenities. Adult kids slept in tatami room on futons and said it was comfortable. Good location for trains subway and buses. Walkable to shopping and dining.

The main problem with this hotel is there is no staff manning the front desk/reception. Every time we needed assistance we had to use the iPad to video call someone who would try and help, this was not a great process. When travelling in a foreign country we like having the front desk to help assist with not just our needs at the hotel but their knowledge and tips navigating their city. The room itself is spacious and well configured.

Minn Gion Sanjo was perfect for traveling with my group of friends. We booked the room with the tatami mats of 3 futons and 2 beds. The room was big enough to host all of us. We didnt bring our big luggages and left them at Tokyo but the room was still large enough to accomodate our needs (even if you account your own large luggage) there is a Konbini just a casual walk down the road and a nice place to wind down just further down. Which was the river side. Highly reccomend exploring the nearby areas in your free time as we found some hidden gems. Transportation wise, it does take a while to access public transit (about a 8-10 minute walk) but still super convient. We were able to access this hotel 2 transits away from the Shinkasen from Tokyo and 1 train ride away to Osaka after our stay. The room was well stocked with ammenities and the spa/hot bath room is highly reccomended but you would need to book in advance. There was an elevator that allowed easy access to the room. Everything about the stay was comfortable and we found the room very pleasant and quite fancy. Thank you Minn Gion!

What can I say, Minn Gion was my favorite stay out of the three hotels I've stayed at during my trip. I got the "Comfort Studio with 3beds (with Terrace & Private Sauna Experience 21:30-23:00). Knowing how small hotels can be in Japan in general, this place was a breath of fresh air. There was a living room, an outdoor terrace, and we were provided a private onsen experience with cold plunge, sauna, and hot tub all to ourselves from 2130 to 2300 which was a GAME CHANGER! With all the walking and touring I did on this trip, this amenity was life changing!!! I love the location and the two local restaurants only a couple blocks away were considered in my top 5 food places out of my entire trip! They also do have a washer/dryer in the room if you need to do some quick laundry, only downside was the dryer cycle was for 5+ hours at a time, and it did not even completely dry my partners clothes, so we had to do air dry for a whole day. Minn Gion also has luggage storage if you need to check out and keep your items somewhere. Overall I HIGHLY recommend Minn Gion! and would stay again if I were in Kyoto!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The apartmenr is very roomy and great location. 10 min walk to a massive shopping district and a grocery store around the corner (fresco). The apartment came with pretty much everything needed to cook basic meals
