Good value for money. Whilst close to the Great Western Highway and train line didn’t really notice it. Walkable distance into Blackheath shops. Very comfortable bed. You won’t speak to any staff at all, self service and checkout through lock box.There is some basic self service breakfast if you want to eat in with cereal, juice and bread. Some all day slices and cakes available to guests is a nice touch. The dining room is tiny and there aren’t any real common facilities. The laneway to the property is shared and looks a bit ordinary Overall this is a good value for money stay,nothing flash but does the job well.

Rowan Brae Guesthouse was the perfect place for a mountains retreat. Beautiful character-filled property in a quiet location, very close to Blackheath village. Room was spacious and cosy. Lovely reception / sitting area with breakfast provisions as well as cakes and treats available all day. Outdoor spaces and gardens are beautiful too & would be nice to sit outside in fine weather. A wonderful find. Will be back.

This is a lovely property my room overlooking the garden and the main historic house was delightful, a very good quality self service breakfast and also a delightful and also a delicious range of cakes and biscuits for morning or afternoon tea island out.
Over two days we never saw any staff or management, While this has little impact on our stay it was the only negative for us.

It’s all self checkin & self service for breakfast. Never saw a staff member.
It was excellent 2 day stay. However disappointing that the room wasn’t serviced on 2nd day.

Фантастический Place was full of character with complimentary food, John kindly let us leave our luggage there while we went hiking after checkout and before our train back to Sydney. Room was spotless with fresh flowers when we arrived.

Clean comfortable room. Excellent bed. Nice garden view with lovely pink rhododendron in flower. Breakfast was help yourself and adequate for my needs.

Loved the older style of the rooms, extremely comfortable. Help yourself to afternoon tea and breakfast was very convenient with ample choices. A definite choice for return visits.

Really nice accomodation. It was perfect. Breakfast was a good selection. Lovely drive through Megalong Valley. Would stay again
