Host introduction

Hello everyone, I am Karen, the host of Eatwith in Chengdu. I was born and raised in Sichuan, studied in Chengdu, and have lived in Chengdu for many years. I have loved visiting the vegetable market since I was a child. I like the vitality, liveliness and the atmosphere of the market. If I am in a bad mood, I will visit the vegetable market, chat with the vendors, eat delicious food, and I will feel happy and energetic again. Because the vegetable market is simple and direct, it is easy for people to unload their burdens and be themselves when they come here, and it is easy to be happy. I have traveled to more than 10 countries. I may not visit scenic spots every time I travel, but I will definitely go to the local vegetable market because I think this is the most authentic way to understand the locals and experience local life and culture. If you are a person who loves to visit the vegetable market, we can exchange new things about visiting the vegetable market together; if you have never been to the vegetable market, let me take you to discover a new world.

Experience introduction

The must-have for Sichuan people during the Chinese New Year is sausage and bacon. 2-3 months before the Spring Festival, when you walk in the old city of Chengdu, you can see red sausages hanging on the windows, balconies, branches, and even telephone poles of every household. If you go to the local vegetable market, you can see that all the meat stalls are stuffing sausages.

My mother makes sausages every year, which is an indispensable ritual for all Sichuan people during the New Year. So this experience is my mother teaching you how to make sausages. Let you learn the real authentic mother's sausage.

Venue introduction

The venue is in my home. I will open the refrigerator to let you know what is in the refrigerator of an authentic Sichuan family and let you know the eating habits of Sichuan people.

Experience process

My mother will teach you how to make sausages, from cutting meat, mixing ingredients, stuffing, watering, and poking bubbles.

I will introduce the customs and habits of Sichuan people eating sausages to the guests, and introduce more Sichuan cuisine culture.

After the sausages are made, you can take them away directly, and remember to dry them in a ventilated place for about 2 months. If you are visiting Chengdu for sightseeing or business trip, you can choose to have them delivered home and continue to dry them until the sausages are naturally dried.
