Front desk staff were marvelous - friendly, welcoming, patient. I had a suite with a great view of the harbour. The layout was terrific. The furniture was comfortable, the bed was firm, linens were good. Valet service was very convenient. The passenger loading zone in front of the hotel is small. It can hold two vehicles comfortably but only if they are parked with consideration for other guests. When I arrived, someone with a big truck had parked obnoxiously (i.e., had not pulled forward to allow room for a second vehicle) so I couldn't pull in. As soon as the valet returned from parking another car, he was very helpful.

This was my husband's and my first time in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Hollis was a nice hotel, especially our room; it was quite large for two people, so we enjoyed the extra space. We ordered room service while staying, and the food was quite good, so check out The Cannery. The only fault of the hotel was that the fitness room/gym was not that impressive; it only had a few cardio machines and free weights. We have been to hotels that have had so much more. Overall, nice hotel.

Fantastic
Really enjoyed our stay here. The location couldn't be closer to the boardwalk, we felt right in the middle of the action and loved going for walks by the water. Also great that there is a grocery store right next to the hotel, for ready meals and other staples that helped us get through our stay. The rooms were fantastic and the views from our room were amazing.

Great location and a warm welcome on arrival. We were in a suite on the top floor and it was wonderful! Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was near everything. Would stay again next time we’re in Halifax.

Like so many others I rely heavily on reviews when booking but don’t always write them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were fantastic, especially Abbie, and very accommodating. The gym is small but meets the need, breakfast at the restaurant was excellent and our room well appointed with a comfortable bed and even an umbrella to use. The warm cookies on arrival - yes please! The location cannot be beat - literally steps from the harbour front with a small grocer and coffee shop right across the street. The only little thing that we would offer consideration on is improving the hot tub - it was a tight for 4 adults and there are no true stairs from which to enter and exit. We would stay here again, no hesitation.
