Lovely clean rooms, amazing shower and great view of the canal. Staff are super friendly.

Very nice hotel with a great location overlooking the canal. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was well-appointed and had air conditioning that helped during the latest canicule, and the neighborhood was very cool. They helpfully stored my luggage for the day while I had an interview nearby. I wish I had time to try the breakfast and coffee because it looked good. It was also a great value for a hotel with such a central location.

Friendly and efficient staff in the perfect neighborhood!

The staff was so incredibly kind and helpful, especially Celine! The coffee shop downstairs was a great way to start the day. The hotel is located on a canal which is full of restaurants and young people of all walks and at all hours of the night, so this may not be the place for you if you’re a light sleeper but I enjoyed it. The neighborhood had everything and was a quick walk to the metro. The room was clean but tiny and the a/c couldn’t keep up with the sun, so be sure to leave the black out curtains closed during the day (housekeeping does not). The hotel provided a fan to make up for how stuffy the room was upon arrival to the bright room and I made sure to leave the housekeeping not needed sign on the door. There was a hairdryer and steamer provided, as well as a little hallway to tuck your suitcases away in. Minor issues included a flickering bathroom light, and the shower didn’t completely drain which I learned was a new ick of mine. Also, had a rain head shower that dripped even when not in use, which made me regret forgetting my shower cap. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely stay here again, just not in the middle of a heatwave!

We stayed at Le Citizen Hôtel for two nights and had a great experience. The hotel is small, clean, and well maintained, with excellent, friendly, and genuinely helpful staff. A pleasant surprise was that the reception team also make outstanding coffee, easily some of the best we had in the area, Highly recommended.

Great location and the staff is very helpful

We have stayed there before and we will stay there again. It is a walkable, friendly, reasonably priced (restaurants, groceries and shops) neighborhood with fabulous parks the canal and easy access to the Metro stations (G'are de est and Republique)

Excellent location right by the canal, extremely picturesque and romantic! Very very good food and drink options nearby - recommend cocktails at Bisou, Ten Belles for coffee and pastries, le Verre Vole for wine and food, Chez Prune for classic French cafe and bar/resto, crepes at Breizh Cafe…. Room was perfect for us, there was a problem with the key a few times but staff was helpful. Convenient to Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est, metro line 4 (great for tourist locations). Very much recommend if you want a feel for a bit more of a local Parisian vibe with pretty good access to city center, too.

Wonderful, lively neighborhood walking distance from Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord, with great restaurants and bars nearby. Creatively decorated room with view onto the lock and swing bridge on the Canal Saint-Martin. Comfortable bed. Friendly, welcoming staff.
