Fantastic
Location is fantastic, you have a MRT station exit at the hotel doorstep which is very convenient, and it’s on the quieter end of a main street through Taipei so you don’t get so much crowds. The hotel is very well maintained. Our rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. The lounge was small but a great convenience; you can get water and Nespresso (there are also 7-Eleven vending machines on the lounge level). The temperature control on the shower didn’t work properly; had sudden bursts of hot water when bathing our toddler but luckily we stopped it in time to avoid a bad burn. There isn’t a desk in the room which may be a hindrance for business travelers or those who need to get work done in the hotel but I was there on holiday. You sacrifice a pool for Japanese-style public baths, which I think is a unique selling point but not for everyone - something to keep in mind if traveling with family who like swimming. There is no drop off for the hotel if you are using ride hailing or getting a private car, and the front of the hotel is occupied by a public bus stop but the staff is very helpful to get you into the car.

We had a fantastic stay at MGH Mitsui Garden Hotel Taipei Zhongxiao and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Taipei, especially families. The location is unbeatable—just seconds from the MRT station, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. We loved being able to sightsee in the morning, return to the hotel for an afternoon break with our kids, and head back out refreshed. The hotel itself is beautiful, with elegant Japanese-inspired aesthetics throughout the property. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. We especially appreciated the lounge area with complimentary coffee and water, as well as the gender-separated public baths, which were a wonderful way to relax after a day of exploring. (Just note that the baths are closed daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.) The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and always willing to help. We were traveling with two young children and a baby, and the hotel kindly provided a baby bathtub and crib, which made our stay so much easier. Our kids absolutely loved the hotel and were genuinely sad to leave at the end of our trip! Between the convenient location, beautiful facilities, family-friendly amenities, and outstanding service, we can't wait to come back on our next visit to Taipei.

The staff and service was excellent and the room was very functional. The Japanese style breakfast was delicious and the Japanese baths made you feel like you were back in Japan. It just would have been nice to know in advance that there was extensive construction around the building and in the lounge.

Room was clean and they provided each person with loungewear and slippers. Comfy beds and nice selection of complimentary tea/coffee. Breakfast was delicious. Staff are helpful and kind. We needed to get 4 suitcases into the taxi and it was pouring rain. One of the staff members held an umbrella over our heads as she helped load our luggage. Onsen on the 17th floor is relaxing!
