It is to old for the price an d rooms are not comfortable

The rooms and property were clean and the staff were helpful. The rooms were hot (we were also there during a record heat wave), but for a 5 star hotel at the price point of this one I didn’t expect to be uncomfortable in my room irrespective of the outside conditions.

My wife & I had certain expectations for the hotel with Mandarin Oriental brand however were not very impressed. While the rooms were comfortable the cleaning doesn't seem to be a big priority for the staff. The rug in the room was pretty stained, there were fingerprints all over the glass and the drains were clogged. In the lobby many of the chairs were old, stained and worn out. They also do not have updated technology. They do not provide a Smart TV or a Bluetooth speaker for the room like most hotels do these days. Lastly the location is a little away from most attractions but it wasn't too difficult to catch the trolley each day.

Our room was a lovely spacious duplex. The location in the museum district was charming. Staff was very friendly and helpful for all of our needs .

Good food, clean rooms although a bit small, great neighborhood

We stayed in a Deluxe Room the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium for 5 nights, and we were disappointed. They put us on a floor that was undergoing renovations (our hallway was covered in painting tape and had unfinished light fixtures), and our room had non-functional ventilation and sparse seemingly unfinished decoration. Our room also had no view (despite advertising a city view) and the bathroom was smaller than advertised. We raised all of this after one night, and mid-way through our stay they upgraded us to a better room on a completed floor with little argument (which was appreciated, but it seemed to acknowledge that the original room was not acceptable). Some of the service was poor, we ordered in-room dining one night and after our food was delivered, the staff accidentally tried to deliver us the same bottle of champage that we didn't order, twice. We called down to ensure that the champagne we didn't order wouldn't be on our bill -- but sure enough there were unexplained "minibar" charges on our bill from the same night. Again we raised this and these charges, as well as the original in-room dining charge, were wiped from the bill as a make-good. The staff did their best to fix things up, but we were disappointed that this is the experience we had with a well-known luxury brand hotel like the Mandarin Oriental. We would not stay here again, and we will think twice about paying a premium for the Mandarin Oriental name going forward.

Exceptional service and hotel . Beautiful amenities and great location

Not a oriental mandarin standard

A true 5 star. Absolutely exceptional service and standards

In the heart of Amsterdam, where canals softly gleam, We found more than a stay—we stepped into a dream. At the Mandarin Oriental, grace lives in each art, But its truest reflection is the soul of its heart. At the front desk, with warmth that no ledger could hold, You welcomed us not as guests, but as stories of gold. With smiles that remembered, with kindness so rare, You turned simple moments to treasures of care. To the doormen and security, steadfast and true, Guardians of comfort in all that you do— With a nod, with a gesture, with dignity shown, You made every entrance feel like coming home. To the kitchen, the chefs, where passion takes flame, Each dish was a poem, no two quite the same. You nourished our bodies, delighted the soul, With mastery, precision, and a craftsman’s control. Room service and rooms division, seamless and kind, Anticipating each need as if reading the mind. In each folded linen, each detail so fine, You whispered of care in a language divine. And to the concierge, with wisdom so wide, Guiding each step with elegance and pride— You opened this city like pages well read, With insight and beauty in all that you said. Together, a symphony—each role, each part, Performed with devotion, with grace, and with heart.
