Check in/out is at another hotel. Magic hotel entrance is inside a narrow lane with people smoking and garbage bins. The room is hot and stuffy even with windows opened. The bed frame is old enough with cracking noise. With Expedia rated it a 3 stars hotel, I expected it to be a relatively good place to stay but it isn’t.

The location of the hotel could not have been better. Very easily walkable to all parts of old Lucerne. Wish we had known there was no AC, but we did visit during an unusual heat wave. Also know that the staff are located at a different hotel about a block away.

Our stay at Alstadt Hotel Magic in Lucerne was very nice. The check in process was easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived via car which was valet parked and returned to us on demand which was nice. The location of the hotel is great. You are steps away from the sites and not far from the train station. There are numerous restaurants all within walking distance.

The room temperature is too high and can’t be adjusted due to it is central controlled. I can’t sleep well because of the heat.

This hotel is well located, but you will need to schlep your luggage a bit. There is a small elevator. Breakfast at the nearby Altstadt Krone was very good.

Clean room, unique style as we chose Angel room. Great location but you have to go up stairs (27 steps) to get to the hotel which is hard if you have a medium size luggage. Wifi is slow but otherwise, can be recommended for short stay. We stayed for 1 night only.
