Very disappointing stay. We expected much more from RIU based on its reputation and previous trips. The service was below average, the food was repetitive throughout our 6-day stay, and despite traveling as a family and requesting rooms together, we were placed in Building 9 next to the RIU Party area, with constant late-night noise from parties and youth groups. The lack of elevators was also inconvenient. The only highlight was Edna from Customer Service, who was kind, professional, and very helpful. Unfortunately, one great employee couldn’t make up for an overall disappointing experience.

First room they put us in was run down and dirty with stains on the bed, second room was okay but food at snack bars/stands was bland and in seasoned. Food in restaurants was meh/okay.. edible and gets you through the day but nothing to enjoy. Definitely lots of bugs in room though. Although it is hot and all, other resorts don’t seem to have this issue as much at all.

Fantastic
The room was very clean. The grounds were beautiful and the food was decent. The staff was great! There were a few times where there was a language barrier but we were in Mexico so I don't expect everyone to know English. They did try to find someone else to help though so that was good. There was a lot of walking as motorized vehicles were nowhere on the property. (I think golf carts or scooters would be a great investment for this resort.) Everything was outdoors and it was very humid during our stay so it was hard to be comfortable. So if you are going to go during the summer, make sure you're prepared for humidity. Stay in the pools to stay cool and make sure that you have hard bottomed shoes (slides or swim shoes) as the pavement gets VERY hot as well as the sand if you decide to go to the beach area. This resort is more for partying than relaxation and there is always something going on. The kids had a blast in the pools and playing the different games and the adults loved the adults only themed parties. Stays hydrated and enjoy your stay!

It’s clearly a full party destination. There are people up walking around yelling 24/7 drunks everywhere. Fighting every night occurrence and below average food at every place in the resort. Good party place but poor family amenities
