Stayed at Holiday Inn Shanghai Nanjing Road via Hotels.com and experienced a shocking safety and security failure. Hotel staff wrongly checked out an occupied room without consent, removed the guest’s belongings, and reassigned the room to other guests while the stay was still active. The guest returned late at night in a foreign city to find strangers in her room and her possessions gone. This represents a serious breach of guest safety, property security, and basic hotel duty of care. Management offered only token gestures instead of meaningful accountability or compensation, and failed to provide an adequate explanation of how such a severe incident was allowed to happen. Completely unacceptable handling of a deeply distressing situation.

Right across from Nanjing Road, a lively, vibrant area buzzing with food, restaurants, and shopping. The Bund is just a few minutes’ walk away—perfect for unwinding after a long, tiring day of business meetings.
A great place to stay, whether you’re traveling alone or with family.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean throughout our stay. We had an issue caused by Expedia, but the hotel team was able to resolve it quickly, especially after Expedia customer service was not helpful at all.
The location is excellent and very convenient for getting around the city. However, the bed was not very comfortable, and the room layout wasn’t very practical for a family traveling with a young child.
Overall, a good stay thanks to the staff and location, but there’s room for improvement in comfort and family-friendly design.

Pur stay in this holiday inn was womderful. The hotel staffs are very nice, they gave up a free upgrade to the city view room. This hotel is very family friendly, my dauther loves to stay in the hotel and not willing to leave, wishing she can continue to stay. Wew ill definitely pickt the same hotel in the next visit.

Very helpful and efficient assistance from the staff. Super convenient location with just 5 minutes walk to 2 different metro stations in the shopping area, and also in walkable distance to the Bunds. They have also got a large variety of breakfast. My family and I will for sure come back again for our next trip in Shanghai.

Location is perfect. Facing the main nanjing shopping street in Shanghai. If your room is right, you can see the front square and lots of landmarks. Staffs are extremely helpful and friendly from the moment we enter this hotel. Highly recommended.
