Best Western London Highbury

Great stay.

The staff were polite and did their best to help however the hotel is old, the air conditioning barely works, and it so cramped you can barely turn around in the bathroom. The elevator was also out of function periodically which was very inconvenient when dragging larger suitcases. The location is less than ideal as we were frequently harassed when going to the train station.

Only stayed here cause it was the last option available. Will not be back. Outdated beds, I was worried about bed bugs. They "upgraded" us but it was more of a downgrade-- they gave us a room detached from the hotel called Car Park 1. It is actually unsafe as I was able to unlock the safety chain from the outside of the door and let myself in - we put a chair underneath the handle each night. The shower/tub was a deathtrap. The chances of someone falling and splitting their head open is probably a 9/10. I am 5'8 and was going to fall multiple times and my friend is 5'2 which was worse for her. We asked if they would be able to hold our luggage and they said no, because there were too many people asking to hold luggages; which is an absurd answer to give, why not just say no they don't offer that service versus admitting that it's too overwhelming for them. There is no water/ice machine, you can buy water from them. The A/C in the room was the only positive.

We had a room in the car park that had four beds (two doubles and two singles). A very good place for a short stay

My king room was spacious, spotless and lovely and cool, the air conditioning was effective and whisper quiet. I was unfortunately disturbed by other inconsiderate guests who were shouting and chatting loudly in their room right up until 2.15am. I called the night manager who came up promptly and was very clear that they needed to pipe down, which they did. Annoying, but not the fault of the property.

I booked through hotels.com meaning I'm missing out on my points as a best western member however I had never stayed at this best western property before but needed a hotel at last minute and this one just a short walk from the tube station making it easy to get to and from King's Cross station. Hotel is in a beautiful location opposite Finsbury Park with Finsbury Park and Manor House station being in walking distance, the staff are lovely and the rooms are a reasonable size whether for a solo traveller or a couple Would I stay again ? More than likely

Amazingly close to Finsbury park events but expensive stay for what it is. The hotel is clean, lovely staff, convenient but i could of taken my family to the Lakes for a week for the cost. Brekkie ok but lots of easy options ie tinned toms, orange squash and pre bowled tinned fruit. Staff lovely and ive had much worse but not a standout meal to start the day.

Convenient for tube. Good breakfast. Clean.
