Very nice location, literally 5 minutes from Kyoto central station. Good sound proofing. Friendly staff, restaurant downstairs, convenience store on the corner of the street. The room was somewhat smaller than I thought, but it was perfect size for a single traveler. I am happy that I stayed there.

Definitely a good place to stay. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and location is great. This hotel is very close to multiple stores, and tourists location. On top of that is very close to the train station.

I stayed at APA Hotel Kyoto and unfortunately had a frustrating experience. The biggest issue was the breakfast. I prepaid for it when booking, but nowhere on their website or on Expedia did it clearly state that breakfast would be almost entirely seafood-based. We were served items like salmon and fish soup definitely not something everyone expects or wants first thing in the morning. If you’re not into seafood for breakfast, this is something you need to be aware of. Since we don’t eat seafood, we asked if there were any alternatives. There were none. We then requested a refund for the two days of breakfast we paid for but didn’t use, and the staff was completely unhelpful. The only response we got repeatedly was “no policy,” with no effort to offer a solution or even show understanding. It was disappointing because this could have been easily avoided with clearer communication upfront or better customer service on-site. If you’re planning to stay here, just be aware: breakfast means fish soup and salmon, and if that’s not your thing, you may end up paying for something you won’t use and won’t be refunded for it.

The staff is great, and the property is clean, located about a 7-minute walk from Kyoto station. However, the breakfast is terrible. It’s not a buffet-style it only Japanese breakfast with no various options; instead, it’s the same food every time.

Everyone was so kind! The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a large bed. The hotel is in a convenient location too!
