Unfortunately, our stay at the Argonaut Hotel was very disappointing. The hotel feels very old and dated, and there was a strong unpleasant smell throughout the hallways. It seemed like some kind of fragrance or spray was being used to cover the smell of the old carpets and building, but it actually made it worse.
The biggest disappointment was that the hotel looked very different in person from the impression we got from the photos online. The photos made the property look much fresher and more inviting than what we experienced when we arrived.
The room was also disappointing, especially the view. Many of the room descriptions and photos emphasized having a “view,” but our view was mostly of a rooftop from the second floor, which was definitely not what we expected.
The hotel restaurant was expensive, but unfortunately, the quality of the food did not match the prices.
Overall, the hotel felt much more dated and worn than we expected based on how it was presented online. For the price and our expectations, we were disappointed with our stay.
