ART HOTEL Hirosaki City

This was a strange one. Last year, we stayed at the Art Hotel in Aomori which was brand new. The Art Hotel in Hirosaki is a short walk from Hirosaki station and seems to be an older hotel that has undergone renovation when taken over by Art Hotels. The room was a bit cramped, albeit that there were three of us and that they had to add a portable bed to the room, but the strange thing was the bathroom. It was the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel in Japan with two sinks and a large shower/bathtub stall. They had a nice breakfast buffet at a reasonable price with local specialties, i.e. apples since it's Aomori prefecture, which is good because there's not much going on in Hirosaki around the train station. But there is a Gusto family restaurant we went to about a five minute walk from the hotel. Now I want to say something about the staff working there. In a rush to catch a train, I forgot my cane at the front desk and was already on the train when I realized that. My wife called the staff and explained and they packed it up nicely and overnighted to our next hotel. Yes, we had to pay for the shipping, but I appreciate the diligence of the staff in returning it to me.

The room AC is weak. We had to set at 18 C and very strong wind setting, still it’s just feel like 24 C. Good that we only stay for 3 nights.

The buffet breakfast was one of the best during our 2 week tour through northern Japan. Wonderful selection. Rooms were quiet and nearby parking was great

If you are visiting from the West, know you are in a 2 star hotel that thankfully is cleaned to Japanese standards.It's utilitarian, has the basics of what you need and the beds are comfortable. You are visiting a small town with a lot of history and beauty to see. Remember the purpose of your trip is beyond your hotel. Bonus, 7 Eleven is connected the hotel! I came Hirosaki for the cherry blossoms and to view at night and in the morning. This is the best option, if you want to be in town.

We visited Hirosaki during cherry blossom season, and this hotel was a convenient base for our trip. It’s located right next to the main station in Hirosaki, making it very easy to get around using public transportation. The room was decent but quite small, which is typical for hotels in Japan, and the facilities felt a bit old, though still perfectly usable. On the plus side, they provided complimentary toiletries such as a toothbrush, hairbrush, and razor. Overall, it’s an affordable and convenient option for staying in the area.

Very nice hotel conveniently located next to the train station. Huge breakfast buffet.

The room was clean and spacious. Excellent location for dining and shopping. Nearby area had many Sakura trees. Walking distance 30 min to Hirosaki Castle and Hirosaki Park with access to shopping and clubs. Steps to buses to the castle and park. We would stay there again
