A gorgeous hotel in a fantastic location for exploring the new forest. Despite being in a very central location, the hotel itself is very quiet and a perfect place to relax - cocktails during happy hour in the garden was a real highlight!
Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed - the only complaint would be that, being an older building, you can hear every creaky floorboard etc. and we did experience a lot of noise from the room above which would not be ideal for light sleepers.
Breakfast in the morning was well stocked/serviced and all very tasty.
We wouldn't hesitate to stay again on our next trip to the area.

Room was small , but quiet with air conditioning which was a bonus , large bathroom with lovely shower , breakfast was a buffet but lovely tasting.
Wax quite busy but not a problem. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location...great food, especially breakfast, and a wonderful late Victorian feel about the interior. Only the antique lifts that kept breaking were the only weakness in an otherwise perfect hotel.

From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and helpful. The Rufus Suite was beautiful and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The hotel is clearly well looked after and is in a perfect spot for days out in the New Forest and Southampton. We will definitely return.
