Nice hotel in a great location

I'm not sure what the regular rate at the Arcadia is, but we paid more than $400 per night to stay in a standard room. I think the rate was particularly high because of the World Cup. We chose the property because it's in a very convenient location. However, the room was very claustrophobic since there are NO exterior windows (the one window opens into the hallway, so you have to keep the curtain closed for privacy). There was a desk chair and one other chair that looks like it came out of a doctor's waiting room, so no place really to sit comfortably except on the bed. Tiny bathroom and only one tiny shampoo, body wash, and bar of soap for two people to share, so really stingy with the extras. And there's a $30 "facility fee" that really should just be part of the room rate instead of buried in the fine print. If this room was $250 or less, I'd say we did ok, but the rate we had to pay was appalling for this kind of room.

This place is a health risk. The mould smell is insane. Walked into our room and walked out. The smell and dampness was unliveable. Left and had to figure out other accommodations.

Room was nice and super clean

Convenient location if you have a car to explore downtown . Breakfast was sufficient.

I wrote way more on my first review but it is not showing so I will do this again. I absolutely loved the hotel. As a solo traveler I felt safe. It was on the Green Line so it was an easy ride to my concert at Fenway as well as my rides to Boston Common, downtown and the New England Aquarium. I love the public transportation system in Boston. I also liked how they decorated for the FIFA visitors!

My stay started with a parking garage that refused to let me in. I got my ticket, swiped it, and it still wouldn't let me in. I go in to ask for help they tell me back up and move in again, no dice. Then I go in a second time and they tell me someone will come out, but nobody did, third time the front staff came out eith me and used her card. Of course after that fiasco, an early check in conveniently opened up so I took it. The room was fine, but the bathroom had a sit in shower and bath combo, but the bath faucet leaked and the lever for it was broken, so only the shower was operable. The continental breakfast was sad. Boiled eggs and bagels, travel sized yogurt cups, some other pastries that looked like they came from a nearby gas station, and if you don't like coffee or OJ / cranberry juice, too bad. The cranberry juice was still in the Ocean Spray bottle you'd find at the grocery store. The only reason to choose this hotel is because it is within walking distance of the Agganis Arena, and that's only if you don't mind walking through the ghetto, especially at night.

The hotel is in a great location. Friendly staff, ample parking, cozy public areas. My only complaint, and it is specific, the no refund policy. My daughter’s boyfriend was unable to come because he got his orders for basic training which was the weekend we stayed. I lost the money for the room and despite the World Cup being in town and the room being rented to someone else, no refund. For this reason, I would not stay here again.
