The staff are amazing. Everyone was as helpful as they could be. My only 2 issues were that I booked a room with a balcony and that wasn’t the case when I showed up. Second issue is how warm the room was. I understand that the weather is something you can’t control, but it has to be known that this place has no A/C and the rooms are very poorly ventilated. We had an 11 month old and it was so bad we would need to spend time outside the room for him to cool down. It’s hard to believe we paid over 1000 Francs a night to be here and the management doesn’t at least carry a few AC units for elderly or families with babies. Unfortunately, for me and my family, this ruined our trip to Interlaken. My advice, if you are going to Interlaken in the summer and it’s hot make sure to ask if the hotel has AC.

Unwelcoming and indifferent staff upon arrival Rooms that were significantly dated and did not match online photos Visible hygiene issues, including stained carpets, cobwebs, and a stale odor A non-functioning refrigerator No air conditioning during a heat wave (~95°F / 35°C), with only a basic fan provided, resulting in two sleepless nights Insects entering the room when windows were opened No meaningful assistance when concerns were raised. All at $ 700 premium per night

The staff was gracious and helpful. The breakfast was very good. It is a grand old hotel. However, the rooms are small and not well furnished for comfort. They are hard to live in. In our room there was only the bed and one small hard backed chair. There’s no place to set a suitcase other than to temporarily open it on the floor, and the only option when there are two people is for one to sit on the bed. We did have a lovely balcony with a table and two chairs, but the width of the opening to the balcony did not permit bringing one of the chairs in. When we were there, the weather was not conducive to sitting outside. The furnishings and the room felt very dated. For the price paid it was a disappointing stay.

Room was a bit small. Unusually hot weather made for less than ideal conditions even with a small room fan that was provided. But a lovely hotel. We would stay there again.
