The stay was great. Our only complaint was that the AC unit in our room broke the 2nd night which made it hard to sleep.

Nice ryokan hotel located at the hillside with great view. A simply cosy dinner was served in room and the breakfast buffet was great in main dining area. The condition is run down but most part of the premise is well maintained. Some parts e.g. kids playroom and the indoor onsen are not clean.

This is an "onsen" (hot spring) hotel. Bathing is a big part of the experience. We enjoyed our stay. The food and service were fine. While the water in the bath itself was ok, the water in the area outside the bath where you wash before getting in the bath was not hot enough. We complained and the hotel staff was very apologetic. They explained that there was an issue with their hot water heater, but the damage had already been done. It was disappointing.

We were expecting a room plus a common area for the kids to sleep. It turned out that we were to sleep in one small common area, Japan style. Uncomfortable but ok for one night.

Overall, it was an okay stay but far from outstanding/excellent. The food was okay but the hot spring (onsen) facility was not clean. The water inside the main bath tub was not fresh/clean and I could see some hair floating.
