Lovely vibe, good location and nice food

Friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Only niggle - when it says reception is manned from 7am to 10pm, please make sure someone is on reception between those hours

Absolutely fantastic hotel with great history, rooms are stunning, staff are amazing and the food was very good value for money.

Interesting property. Heat wave made sleeping difficult but can’t have a hotel full of character without some tradeoffs. Great breakfasts Easy access to local bus to train station in Salisbury and short cab ride to Stonehenge

High quality in all aspects

The George is an amzing property and an amazing stay-- the staff is so lovely and there are so many wonderful spaces to gather, retreat, sip, savor, and enjoy. It is also rich in "character" - rooms, stairs, floors, and spaces are typical of an establishment that is more than five hundred years old. It's delightful. Amesbury, in case you wonder, is a lovely little English town with a few good restaurants and bakeries, lovely walks, and good bus connections.

Room was beautifully decorated & spotless. Staff are fantastic - friendly & helpful. Food is excellent.

Well located. The bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms have been nicely upgraded.

Simply cannot say enough good things about the George and the staff there! A wonderful old building so there are some oddly shaped corridors as you'd expect but they only add charm to what is already a fabulous location and venue. The room was clean, comfortable and I felt right at home the moment I got there. All the facilities you can expect in a hotel room. Bed was comfy, sheets were clean. The bathroom was clean and well put together given the limited space available. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and there was no shortage of options to suit everyone. I had the eggs benedict and felt set up and ready for the day ahead. But most of all the staff were exceptional. All were friendly, helpful and really easy to approach with queries. In particular they went out of their way to help me, nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this place to anyone and would be happy to come again!
