No bells and whistles, but it’s what you get what you pay great for the price

My experience at this hotel was not what I expected. The facilities show clear signs of wear and a lack of maintenance. Cleanliness, especially in the bathrooms, could be improved considerably, as the level of hygiene did not meet my expectations during my stay. In addition, several lockers were damaged or out of service, which made it inconvenient to store personal belongings. I also felt that the security measures were limited, which is an important aspect for guests who want to feel confident that their belongings are safe. I believe the hotel has potential, but it would benefit from greater investment in maintenance, improved cleanliness, and stronger security measures to provide a better experience for its guests.

No air conditioning

Some lockers we’re broken and need to be repaired also just a communal soap in the shared bathroom would’ve been nice but it was great to reconnect with the friends I met last year with a small world

I stayed at Villa Luzzati and there are a few important things future guests should know before booking. I booked a bed in a 4-bed dorm, but the room actually had 5 beds. The 5th bed was a bunk bed without proper stairs, making it uncomfortable and unsafe to climb. Also, there were only two outlet areas in the room, so it was difficult for everyone to charge their devices at night. One important thing to know is that there are no locks on the room doors, either digital or manual. There are small lockers outside the rooms, but you must bring your own lock. The washrooms were cleaned daily, which was good, but the shower curtain and shower head were broken during my stay. Towels are not provided unless you ask for them, so it’s better to bring your own toiletries and towel. The positive side of this hostel is definitely the location. It’s about a 7-minute walk to the metro station and nearby bus stops. Places like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain can be reached within about 25 minutes by metro or bus. The front desk staff, especially Dimitri, was very friendly and helpful. Another female staff member was also kind and supportive. I requested fresh bedsheets and a comforter, and they changed them for me immediately. Otherwise, you may end up using bedding that was previously used by another guest. I paid around CAD 56 per night, and personally I did not feel it was worth the price. However, it was one of the cheapest options I could find in Rome.

This is exactly what you pay for. It was barebones, which is what I was expecting. But the staff were professional and helpful and it was exactly what I was looking for in terms of a cheap place to lay my head while in Rome.

All the terrible reviews are right. I wish I had checked them out. My main issue is how noisy it was outside the first floor room both at night and in the morning. The front desk is right next to the door and the workers were constantly chatting with each others or guests and I could hear everything while I tried to sleep. It didn't help one of the staff called me a "stupid b*tch" when I declined to bother with the check out process.
