We stayed here for the proximity to Gare de Lyon. Were caught in a heat wave. Luckily, the airconditioning was working well enough to keep us cool.

We liked this hotel where we stayed for 3 nights. Very close to Gare de Lyon which worked well with our plans. This isn’t a classic Holiday Inn, it really has more cachet and the architectural details that make you feel you are in Paris. We had a room with a balcony which we enjoyed. Our room was an ok size for Paris but we didn’t have a basic room and heard that the basic rooms were quite small. Ours had a brand new bathroom and was well designed so it didn’t feel too small. The area is average, so there are dining options and your classic Paris staples but nothing earth shattering. The hotel restaurant seemed very nice although not cheap. We didn’t end up going but noticed the food and drinks menu looked top notch. Grocery store in front for basics and snacks.

Elevator service is a problem -- too small and out of service. Dropping off luggage is a problem. There is no place to stop the car except in an active bus lane, and there is no on-site parking. Breakfast was good and the property is well-located, albeit directly next door to a sex shop. The staff is mostly helpful, though it is difficult to enter and exit the property due to the need to use a card key or be recognized by the staff both day and night.
