The phone in the rooms were not working. The toilet was clogged. We were only there for a day and got back in the room late night and was hoping to shower and get ready for bed. But unfortunately we had to deal with a clogged toilet. We had to go down from the 8th floor to request a technicican since the phone was not working. The elevators are the slowest I've ever experienced. The musty/mildew smell in the breakfast seating area is horrendous. The only reason you would want to stay here is because of Porto's proximity.

The building is very old and the area is not very pleasant. The toilet was clogged and a guy came and opened it but it was making weird noises after that. The breakfast was great. Overall the staff was helpful.

I would have given a better review, but things being out of order made for a not so pleasant stay. The pool was closed on a day my kid really wanted to swim. The hot tub was out of order the whole visit. One elevator closest to our room was out of order the whole stay, making every trip up and downstairs much longer, especially since the housekeeping staff also used the same elevators.

We enjoy staying at Embassy Suites for its amenities and free breakfast. The indoor pool is always a hit with my kids. Can be used rain or shine.

From the moment we checked in, there was a huge cockroach crawling around the lobby. It was pretty gross, and it wasn’t until I pointed it out and asked someone to kill it that the staff addressed the issue. The rooms appear to have been updated, but unfortunately the bathroom was not. Our bathroom was very small was not clean. There was gunk around the toilet and the tub of the shower had a crack in it. I carry Lysol wipes so I cleaned before we used it. The shower wouldn’t drain, and when I reported it to the front desk, I was asked if I wanted someone to take a look at it. Of course I did, considering we still had two more nights of our stay!! What type of question is this ? I also requested fresh towels and light housekeeping. We were out from 10:00 a.m. until about 9:00 p.m., so there was plenty of time to service the room. While the shower drain had been cleared, all of the debris and gunk that had come up was left behind and not cleaned. We also never received fresh towels, so I had to go back to the front desk to request them. If this hotel weren’t so close to our family, we probably wouldn’t stay here. The bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were so flat they felt like sheets of paper. On the positive side, the property was quiet, and the complimentary breakfast was better than expected. The pool was closed during our stay, which was disappointing since we enjoy using that amenity on vacation, but I understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen.

We LOVED it! We were there for a few things, Disneyland was the big one. We saw their little gift shop of it, the kids loved the elevator view of the inside of the hotel. We were so thankful they were able to let us check in early (w/ a fee) and we were roomed right across the elevator. We didn’t get to try the breakfest, but we had a lot of options available nearby. It was only less than 20 mins away from Disneyland so we loved it! Cheaper option for us. The staff were really communicative on questions answered, they also came by and helped clean the room while we’re out. Parking fee was taken by deposit and I think that was super convenient. We were able to get the suite with the couch bed as we had my family joined in last minutes and it was perfect! Small kitchenette area that’s nice, so that way no one had to wait to use the bathroom sink! Overall, perfect location and hotel was very clean. My kids loved it, husband wants to book another trip already!

Construction everywhere not clean staff seems like they hate working there. I will not come back!

Our stay at the Embassy Suites in Downey was fantastic. Close to restaurants and everything you need! The staff was pleasant and helpful. I would stay here again!

Horrible. Be aware they do not have air conditioning in the hallways and it is hot. No parking spots but charge you twenty dollars a night. Pool was closed half of the visit.
