I stayed in rooms 523 and 528. The rooms are very old and smell strongly of mildew. The bathrooms had mold, the sheets were very dirty, and housekeeping didn't clean. They tried to charge an extra $160 when the fee for the daybeds was supposed to be $100. They charged me for "Preferred Club" status without explaining that there are extra charges for everything you want. The building is very old, the pools were filthy, there was little variety in the food, and the beach was disgusting—full of sargassum and foul-smelling. I am truly disappointed with this resort. Initially, I was supposed to pay $1,200 for two nights; I was told the rooms wouldn't have windows, but if I paid an extra $450, I could get a room with a window. I have never been so disappointed by a hotel as I was by Dreams Sands. The waiters were unfriendly, paying more attention to foreign guests.

Loved it

This was our third time at this hotel. The service is very nice. Our first room was a complete disaster. No towels, no TV, no phone, and most importantly, no air conditioning. After two days of complaining about the heat at night, they finally offered us another room... smaller, of course. But the air conditioning did work. The food isn't the best, with little variety for children. Just hot dogs, quesadillas, and mac and cheese. There are few evening activities. The beach towel service was awful (we waited over an hour for towels). I regret that this will be our last time at this hotel (all because of this bad experience, as the location is excellent).

Original room had mold on the ceiling . It took fighting the front to actually change my room. Staff is not friendly and clearly they are there just to work and go home. No to make your experience any better or nice at all. Food was one of the worst I’ve had in all the resorts I’ve stayed at in Cancun.

The overall property is good. Unfortunate timing had a lot of seaweed on the beach (obviously uncomfortable by the hotel) but did dampen the trip. Upgraded to a room with a balcony that I didn’t use and also joined the preferred club for my trip. Also didn’t use. The staff is very accommodating for all needs. The pools were clean. Alcohol could’ve been stronger when ordering cocktails. The culinary specific restaurants were good. The buffet was okay. The Hyatt company that owns the resort will advertise a membership program that allows premium usage to their other resorts (basically a timeshare just a bit different) with an incentive of $300 of “leisure cash” to be used on certain things after the sales pitch. Unfortunately, single men do not qualify for this reward and was not made known to me prior to attending the sales pitch. I was offered nothing in return for abusing my time because I didn’t qualify for the reward. For my first all inclusive resort, I was disappointed but I do believe this is a decent place to stay. I wouldn’t stay here again though.

This property was fantastic and is perfectly located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff was outstanding—especially Carmen at the concierge desk, who provided excellent service throughout our stay. The only minor issue was the air conditioning in our room, which was a bit difficult to adjust. Other than that, our experience was excellent. I would definitely stay at this property again and highly recommend it to others visiting Cancun.

We had such an amazing stay at Dreams Sands Cancun! The resort was beautiful, clean, and in the perfect location with gorgeous beach views. The staff went above and beyond to make our trip special — everyone was so friendly and helpful the entire time. The food, drinks, entertainment, and atmosphere were all wonderful, and our group made so many fun memories here. We truly felt relaxed, welcomed, and taken care of from the moment we arrived. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing Cancun vacation!

Mi estancia en este hotel fue muy buena si estás buscando un ambiente familiar y tranquilo este es el lugar a pesar de que hay muchos niños. Los empleados son muy atentos y siempre a la disposición. Lourdes fue la encargada de mantener mis sábanas y toallas limpias y la verdad que no tuve quejas de ella, estuvo siempre al pendiente. La comida fue estupenda y variada sobre todo habían platillos exquisitos en Portofino, fue mi restaurant favorito. Les recomiendo pagar el prefer pues tienes acceso a otras áreas del hotel como piscina privada y parte de la playa privada que nunca entendí esa parte porque se supone que es all inclusive. La comida estuvo bien pero pienso que pueden mejorar aún más, hacen actividades en el área de la piscina tanto de día como de noche. Me hubiera gustado que pusieran más música en las noches pues luego de las 10 pm se torna aburrido. Por mi parte no estuve muchos días en el hotel pues me pasé la mayoría de excursiones desde la mañana hasta la tarde. Recibí igualmente un masaje relajante con hidromasaje eso fue espectacular, Estrella se lució.
