Cancellation policy was tricky after an erroneous date was booked through 3rd party. Totally understand but reviewed little help in finding a solution other than fully charging me.

Everything from an early check in to checkout was wonderful. Every staff member I interacted with was so nice and helpful. Especially the front desk! Thank you! Will be back soon!

Staff were super friendly, the room was spacious and clean, and the location was perfect!

The hotel was an old and beautiful. The foyer, mezzanine and pool area were stunning. The staff was kind and welcoming. Although our room was large and clean, it needed updating. The beds were extremely hard and low to the floor.

Overrated and overpriced for what you get The Berkeley markets itself as a grand oceanfront hotel, but it’s really a tired, rundown motel with a fancy name. At around $800 a night in season, I expected something special, instead the rooms, while spacious, are dated and neglected, with worn furnishings and old fixtures. I also paid for a King Deluxe and got a queen bed. A queen is not a king, and at these prices I expect the room category I paid for. On top of that, a surprise $90-a-night valet was sprung at check-in with no heads-up, exactly the kind of nickel-and-diming that shouldn’t happen at luxury rates. If you’re charging premium prices, you owe guests a premium experience. The Berkeley delivers neither the upkeep nor the value. Look elsewhere in Asbury Park.

The phone didn’t work in our room. The bathroom was so small. The toilet was the short bowl size because otherwise, if they were the long one, the door would hit it. There was one blind right next to the bed that was not a blackout shade so the sun would beam in in the morning.

Everything was great. Staff was lovely. The manager crett was very accommodating as well as the receptionist

friendly caring supportive customer service.

It was annoying to have to ask for toilet paper and clean towels when three of us were staying in one room. I wish room service was at least every other day.
