Great location both close to the train station and the main shopping street. Very simple Ryokan with a simple onsen. Both indoors and outside were well maintained, but slightly old rustic feel.
Quiet nights even though it is near that main street.

Great traditional Japanese room with private bath and public bath. Even though we sleep on the floor it was super comfortable. It was a great experience with the breakfast as well. Walking distance to the Main Street and train station.

I really enjoyed my stay at Yufuin Yamaboshi. I arrived a couple hours before check-in time but was able to leave my luggage at the lobby so I could explore the area. My luggage was sent to my room when i returned. The room was very big and spacious and I enjoyed the experience of a tatami room. The view from my window was also gorgeous.
There is a washroom in the room, but no shower/bath. The baths/shower/onsens are located in a small building outside of the main block and are separated by gender. I really enjoyed taking baths in the onsen, especially as there was both an indoor and outdoor bath area.
The couple running the place are also very hospitable. Overall I really recommend this place if you're staying the night in Yufuin.

Breakfast was great. Nice onsen on premises. The JR station and restaurants (get recommendations from the front desk) are just a few blocks away. Good wifi.

Good stay with basic onsen. Indoor private onsen is suitable only for 2, outdoor public onsen is bigger. The onsen overall could use some refurbishing, but gets the job done. Room was good size for 2. Property seems on the older side, but clean and quiet. Great location, across from B-Speak bakery and nearby the main tourist street in Yufuin. Walking distance to Yufuin station, about 10 minutes. Excellent value.
