We took the Scenic Railway up to Kuranda Village and the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway back down to Smithfield — and it was the perfect combination for experiencing the beauty of the region!

The planning was quite good, and the driver explained the itinerary in detail during the trip. He was very patient in helping to solve problems. The zoo and experiences at the rainforest station were quite interesting, but Kuranda village was a bit boring.

There was a notice about the meeting point above the road side of the station entrance (I didn't notice it at first). However, other tour buses also come to that location, so confirmation is necessary. I had a voucher, so there shouldn't have been any mistake, but this time, the driver mistook me for someone else due to his assumption. Just in case, I went to the meeting point earlier than the meeting time, and a bus was stopped there with the driver waiting. He called out my surname and told me to get on quickly (it seemed that the meeting time for that bus had already passed). But my meeting time hadn't arrived yet? Even though I showed my voucher and explained that the meeting times were different, the driver departed anyway. When I looked at the document I was given, sure enough, the name was wrong. Only the surname was on the reception list. The driver had already picked up guests one after another, and it was too late to walk back from the station, which was quite far. Finally, the driver realized his mistake and communicated with the company. I also spoke with a Japanese-speaking staff member, and in the end, we decided to go directly to the Skyrail boarding point. Since I had a Skyrail voucher, I was able to board without any problems, and the rest of the itinerary proceeded smoothly. However, what happened to the real Mr./Ms. [Name]? I think it wasn't the driver's fault since the meeting time had already passed. By the way, the driver apologized to me, saying, "Only the surname was on the reception list. I'm sorry." He was complaining to the company.

The travel agency is Down Under Tours. After booking, I was supposed to receive a confirmation email, but I didn't, so I called the agency to confirm the pick-up time (which would be around 10 AM). The shuttle bus was very large, and there were many participants. The itinerary was well-arranged. Upon boarding, we received a paper with today's tour schedule, cable car tickets, and train tickets. We arrived at the cable car station at 11 AM. There are two stops in the middle where you can get off and walk around, with free ecological guided tours. After arriving at Kuranda Village, you can explore, eat, etc., on your own. Finally, at 3:30 PM, it's time to take the scenic vintage train down the mountain, and there will be detailed commentary on the train. After arriving at Freshwater Station at 5:00 PM, another bus will pick everyone up and take them back to the city.

I had a wonderful time experiencing Aboriginal culture, traditional instruments, dance, and the plants and animals that have been protected in Kuranda all at once. The staff were friendly and I was very satisfied. Highly recommended!!

The tour is definitely worth it as it includes a comprehensive itinerary without feeling rushed. You'll see many butterflies and a variety of wildlife. It's a lovely experience.
