The hotel is very cute and has a great location. It was about a 15-20 minute walk where ever I wanted to go. The staff was very nice and helpful. Room was clean and cute but would be tight if it was two people. It rained so I didn’t use the pool but the roof looked like it would be great. My breakfast wasn’t included but could be bought for 20 Euro. No really dinner restaurant on cite. Pricey

Good location, but the rooms have small windows that cannot be opened, and only part of them can be opened. The floor is dirty

I picked this hotel as a last minute solo trip, based on location and price. It was excellent as a base for visiting Athens. Staff were friendly, breakfast was decent, my room was nice and cool - the only thing is there was very little natural light come through (I thing I picked ‘yard view’ and the only view is another tall building right up to it). I was a little worried walking through Psirri to get to it as the area seemed very run down, graffiti everywhere, but then learned it’s part of the charm and I felt very safe as a woman in her 40s walking alone, even at 3am when I had to catch the airport shuttle from Syntagma Square. Everything in central Athens is within walking distance of Anise Aluma Hotel, and you also have a metro station 5-10 minutes away at Monastiraki (also with a direct line to the airport). I even walked from this hotel to Mount Lycabettus (and up) and the whole walk there and up to the top took no more than 40 minutes. I stayed in November and the rooftop bar was not running. I recommend this hotel for solo travellers or couples wanting a good central base to visit Athens, that they can pop back to during the day if needed.

Staff was brilliant. Room was clean (though very small). Great pool on the rooftop. We really enjoyed it.

Clean. Great staff. Air conditioning was fine. Breakfast can be vastly improved. No fresh juice only from concentrates. One coffee machine. Roof top bar and room was very nice.

All the amenities I like: pool, restaurant, helpful 24/7 front desk, convenient, great bed. Smallish room but adequate. Lovely staff!

Hotel Anise is a 5 minute walk from Monastiraki Square and direct line to the airport. We were enthusiastically welcomed at reception, offered a drink and booked in swiftly. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The bathroom modern and perfect for our stay. The bar and swimming pool on the top floor made a great place to relax from the heat and noise of the city. I would recommend Anise as a good base for seeing the historic sights in and around Plaka.
