First positive and the reason we booked this hotel was its location and how close it is to the train station and the free breakfast with our room. The hotel had a 7-11 attached to it along with a food court. The hotel is massive and took us a day or so to figure things out. The room was small but the view we had was amazing. At first, the room was very musty and smelled off. It took about a day of running the air conditioning for the odor to decrease to a more comfortable level. Every hotel staff member we engaged with was very helpful and pleasant. I would stay at this hotel again.

We've been coming to the Shinagawa Prince for the last 25 years whenever we're in Japan. The reason is the convenience of this location: Easy access to and from Tokyo Haneda Airport on the Keikyu railway line and the big Shinagawa JR station is right across the street. This time, we stayed in the Annex Tower. Since this has been our regular stay in Tokyo, I wish I could speak better of it, but the place has grown very long in the tooth. And since Japan lately has been overrun with tourists (just one of many reasons I try to avoid Tokyo if possible) this hotel is showing lots of wear and tear and fixtures that are way out of date compared to other hotels away from Tokyo that we stayed at on this trip. Since the hotel was booked solid because of a women's lacrosse tournament going on, we had to book two rooms for the three of us. One of the rooms smelled of smoke, so the staff switched it for us. The other one at least didn't smell, but it was obvious the carpet was worn out, frayed in spots and one spot in particular had a big patch. The carpet in the hallways was worn and seemed in need of a good cleaning. Supposedly they are in the process of renovating, but with twenty-something floors of rooms in the Annex, who knows how's long that's going to take.

Outdated rooms (floor 33 main tower and on floor 22 main tower). Staffs were friendly. Breakfast at the Luxe main tower was good and lots of varieties. Swimming pool - must pay to use. Be careful.

We stayed at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel for almost a week during our trip to Japan and overall had a good experience. The location was excellent—very central, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We rarely had to go far for anything, which made our stay very convenient. The housekeeping staff was outstanding. Our room was always clean, and they were consistently friendly and professional. The only issue with the room was the air conditioning. It never cooled as well as we had hoped, especially in the summer heat. The hotel provided us with a fan on our second night, which helped tremendously. Unfortunately, our last impression was disappointing. While checking out, I was using the luggage scale located next to Guest Services and the luggage carts when an older gentleman working there raised his voice and told me to use the scale outside because this area was busy. After staying here for nearly a week, I found this unnecessary and unwelcoming. There were other guests standing nearby talking and meeting friends, yet I was singled out for simply using the scale where the hotel had placed it. If they don’t want guests weighing luggage there, the scale should be moved to a more appropriate location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel for its location and excellent housekeeping, but I hope guest service during checkout can be improved.

I know we were there during a tremendous heat wave but the a/c in our room didn’t work well and our room was facing the sunny side of the hotel so we baked in a dark room. Other than that the location was great across from the Shinigawa station. Breakfast was good. Very lively, international crowd at this hotel with lots to do for kiddos. Has a pool, aquarium and dolphin show on site.

This property will be renovating the guestrooms and lobbies in the Main and Annex Towers, and the Restaurant Ajikaido Gojusantsugi, from 9 AM-5 PM on November 1, 2026, to April 1, 2029. During renovations, guests may hear construction-related noise and vibration and the restaurant may not be available. A scheduled power outage will take place from 1-5 AM on the following dates and locations: January 5, 2027, in the Annex Tower; January 13, 2027, in the Main Tower and East Tower; January 19, 2027, in the Annex Tower and North Tower; and January 25, 2027, in the Main Tower, Annex Tower, North Tower, and East Tower. Breakfast is not included in the breakfast rate plan for children ages 4-5, and can be requested onsite for the listed child breakfast fee. There are no breakfast fees for children 3 and under.
